hmmm...it's obvious some of these aren't going to work, or at least the Koreans are going to be damn difficult to tell apart...
still, here's a good rundown of what the new mongol icons might looks like. My idea, at least.

Think that not only Koreans but a substantial Chinese detachement accompanied Kubila Khan's invasion force.
They include: naval fleets, marines,seige specialists, Infantrymen, crossbowmen, Support troops,etc.

Actually the crossbow Song Dynasty fought Mongol with was a direct decscendent from the ones the mighty Han Army used to nail the Huns. it was a run of tumb in Chinese warefare upto the Mongol take over that horsemen have Composite bows while Infantry uses Crossbows mainly.
And Infantry are quit professional too. The Conscripts army have a core of Professional regulars who has previous war-experience. So they normally will not run as easily as Ashigurus.

Nice job on the pics Soly, Wonder if there is any way to tweak them a bit to make it easier to tell them apart. I've got both PSP 6 and Photoshop 5. What are You using?

Obake: I'm using Photoshop 5.5, but I did this one on my PC, which isn't nearly as good as a Mac. This is obvious in the different pixelation of the faces. That, and I did this while having breakfast and in a span of 10 min! Also, I had to make the file small enough to load quickly when people accessed this post. Some of the pictures are of completely different style than the original STW shots, for example the Naginanta Cav and Battlefield Ninja, so it gets difficult to just get a head-shot.

Nice first effort soly.It will be tough to distinguish between the Korean Skirmisher,Spearman,and Guardsman.Their faces and clothing are practically identical.The only thing that sets them apart is their weapon.I don't know how you could fit that in there.

Soly gets the credit for inspiration. His rendition of Shadowkill just set the stage. Took me about as long to modify those four as it did for Soly to do the whole thing (while eating breakfast).

For those who care, I'm using Painshop Pro 6.0 on a PC for the work. Haven't delved into the world of Photoshop yet. Python fans may want to check out my self-portrait over on the OT dojo.
