invalid cd key after patch

Hi all,

I've been playing MP for over a month without a hitch, but after patching and trying to reenter CD key info...I keep getting invalid CD key....I've tried about 20 times with the same error - using all CAPS...including dashes...tried changeing zero's to O's...but CDKEY would only take zeros in that position...so I guess they are zeros...Since the CD key was valid prior to the patch..I'm kinda stumped...this is after a completely fresh install prior to patching...I even deleted the leftover folders...only thing I didn't do was go into the registry.. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

After you have entered the number, you must not press ENTER but you have to click CONTINUE with your mouse.
The former gave me an invalid key, the latter worked for me...

i have the exact same problem. i type my cd key (capitals + dashes) press the continue button and get the "invalid cd key" message. great! now i cant even try the new version in mp! what should i do buy a new copy? im rellay pissed off!

and btw ive reinstalled mtw applied the patch and did not play sp before i tried mp.

i forget:
the frist attempt us always unseccesful because the continue button is gone. i have to enter the cd key press enter, get the "invalid cd key message" then try again. now the continue button is visible but i cant log on. ive tried it over twenty times with all possible variatons. damn i can type my cd key out of my memory now. help!

Ok...I got it to work.....

step 1: start game....click multiplayer...click "enter new cd key" field

step 2: Entered CD key in caps with dashes......HIT ENTER...

Step 3: click Continue...

I think what was happening was I was not hitting enter after entering the info into the CD KEY field....go figure http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
