According to Activision, the below problems were addressed in the real patch. Based on their email, a beta patch was leaked to the public and that the real patch addresses some of the problems I emailed them on. I was told that the release of the patch will be posted on the Activision site. There isn't any notice on that site.
What is the file name of the 'real' patch? The patch I download doesn't address the 'stone age' bug, the 'meltaway syndrome', the 'suicide attack', or the 'peasant hordes' (see below for details), so I am thinking I must have the beta. I am only seeing one patch out there. Is that the beta? Has the real patch been released?
Do I have to re-install the game if I installed the Beta?
1) The 'stone age' bug where the AI will not build any new structures on land it retakes is apparently not fixed.
2) The 'meltaway' syndrome where the AI retreats and retreats against numerically inferior numbers. In my opinion it would be better to have the PC fight to the death and never retreat than this.
3) The computer still commits the general and king too early in the battle. I thought this was fixed?!
4) AI still seems to use peasants to form the bulk of its army. I thought the AI was making a more balanced army with the patch.
