Hi everyone,

in my current Casse 1.1 campaign I experience something odd:

Neither FM`s nor Diplomats, Spies, Assassins and Client Rulers will die of natural causes. My oldest FM is the guy from the beginning and he`s now over a hundred years old.
Perhaps I should mention that my Faction leader died on the first turn.

I consider now putting the decrepits in a boat and feed them to the ... pirates:juggle2:.

But this bug is strange, isn`t it? At least not the way it should be :laugh4:.

Has anyone experienced something like that?

Thanks for reading - I`m looking forward to your responses.

Cheers

Are you playing using the Alex.exe?

If you are that is the problem. There are solutions but I don't think they are savegame compatible. EB 1.1 is only supported on RomeTW.exe not any of its expansions.

Yep, I do run Alex.

O.K. - so I should expect a few more minor bugs in an Alex-Campaign?

Anyway - still a great mod.

You guys must have a lot of freetime spending on modding and developing EBII...

Thanks.

We do.

As you are using Alex you can expect your FMs to never die, ever.

There is a fix, but you'll need to search the submod forum for EB to find it. And it is not savegame compatible.

I too am getting this problem, did you manage to find the fix?

There is no fix for your current campaign as changes to the export_descr_character_traits file are not save-game compatible. PM Maksimus about this, he has done the most work on the Alex engine.

Oh man, I wish I was playing alex.exe. That sure would be better than reloading all the time just so my best FMs do not pass away. I know that is exploiting or even cheating, but it is just so difficult to let go of your best and most favourite generals.

eh... foot... there's a problem with that hypothesis...

you'll see... his FL DIED the first turn, that means things should be alright... if one can die... then two can also...

the so called solution is to paste the inmortal trait at the end of the traits section , I haven't personally tested but LordbulA says that if you put them at the end of the trait section it is savegame compatible -PM , or well ask here if you wan't to know how-

now I have a question both for you Thorakites and Gnostiko, how did you change your .exe?

was it by yourselves? -in that case you might had made a mistake-

or did you dowload the changes from somewhere -ejem say AlexEB, or minimod pack thread?, cause if you did... there's no reason to bealive this is out of normal, those files are tested by hundreds of downloads with no problems whatsoever, being myself one of the testers.

I do have to say, however, that alex.exe does-sometimes- prolonge the FMs life span, sometimes... most of my generals died at age 60-70 , though one died at 78 once
besides, I don't know if you guys remember but we had a poll or thread I dont remember , where we posted what was the longest time one of our FM had lived, and most said over 90 , so... just wait I'm pretty sure he will eventually die.

as a fast testing way... do not activate the script and just clic end turn for several times, till he dies...

last words... I just hope my significally long post doesn't die abandoned and one of them answers my questions...

anyway I can reproduce this bug in original rtw? don't want to reinstall everything again. would be kinda cool to have immortal generals, age wise at least. I can see so much potential for roleplaying purposes.
