I didn't know the brain physically shrank with age?!

EDIT: Don't worry, you're fighting it as we speak! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7667610.stm)

Marijuana on the other hand, doesn't shrink the brain at all! But nooooooo... we cant legalize that, it was put on earth by satan!:wall::wall: :sweatdrop:

yeah i know it's a bit OT, but they keep finding out things that make alcohol bad, yet it remains legal, while a plant that is half as harmful is treated as if it was deadly. its just stupid.

sorry, i'll leave you guys alone for now.

moderation accomplishes nothing!

Apparently it decreases the rate at which the brain will shrink. So, it accomplishes something.:smash:

The trouble with moderation, for young men (and women), is they can't know what is moderate until they've exceeded their limit a few times. After getting smashed a few times, they either decide they don't like it and swear off forever, or find out what level of stupor they can manage under what circumstances.

Or they become addicted to the thrill and become derelicts, the thrill gradually subsiding over time to where there is no thrill at all, and the drug runs their life, and they keep trying to recapture that thrill, hoping "this time" (after a thousand failures) the magic will return again. That part is sad.

Happens to the best of them every once in a while. Its best to just shake it off and proceed as if it never happened. ~;)

Funny, as your joke is partially the reason as why marijuana was made illegal. *Lights Bowl*

Jokes aside, remember to look at this part, guys:

However, the study did not demonstrate that the smaller brain volume actually impaired memory or mental function, notes James Garbutt, M.D., professor of psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

And the differences between brain volumes in drinkers and nondrinkers were quite small -- less than 1.5 percent between abstainers and heavy drinkers.

"We're talking very small differences here," says Dr. Garbutt, who was not involved in the study. "We're not seeing 10 to 20 percent shrinkage."

I smoke some joints in the morning
I smoke some joints at night
I smoke some joints in the afternoon
and then I feel alright
I smoke some joints in times of peace
I smoke some joints at war
I smoke some joints
before I smoke some joints
and then I smoke some more

Haha, if we had mean little power-freaks here at the Org, this comment would just be begging for some kind of public mod-ladled hurt. :)

It's two joints.

Kadagar_AV

Are you sure?

It's two in world of warcraft, and in the rap version, I do however think the original reggae has it as "some", albeit, the lyrics are extremly hard to get, as singer is rather stoned... I might be wrong:)

Is it "I kill two dwarves" or "I kill two gnomes"?

Or is it eat, instead of kill? I don't remember anymore.

Yeah, even the title of the song is 'Smoke Two Joints.' Pot's shrinking your brains, here's some wine to perk you up.

"We always knew that alcohol at higher dosages results in shrinking of the brain and cognitive deficit," says Dr. Petros Levounis, M.D., director of the Addiction Institute of New York at St. Luke's -- Roosevelt Hospital Center, who was not involved in the study. "What is new with this article is that it shows brain shrinking at lower doses of alcohol."

Hey Husar, my paragraph was only the third (statistically least likely) scenario. The first two (get :daisy:-faced and quit; get :daisy:-faced and learn your limit) happen much more often, as is, I'm sure, the case with most of our little group here.

Are there any brain surgeons here? How much shrinkage can a human tolerate before becoming inoperable?

Don't be so lax on our drinkers here, they need a bit more :whip:.

I just consider myself the necessary checks and balances.

It's not technically shrinking the brain. It's killing off brain cells. Hopefully the slow and weak ones. Every beer you drink makes your brain more efficient and streamlined. :barrel:

Poppycock. The greatest writers of our times were complete dypsomaniacs. Hemingway, Byron (as you can see in my sig), Waugh, Dylan Thomas, Baudelaire, Maupassant...
