I am having SUCH fun with the new random battle generator.
Not knowing in advance what your, or your opponents units are really make this a unique challenge.
After rolling for point allocation (dice-driven, semi-random) and sides (again random), I click past unit allocation, and select a map.
Before anyone flames me, telling me to play online in a multi-player setting, let me first say that I totally suck at multi-player, and would get my a$$ handed to me regularly.
But I am learning what the various units do, and have developed respect for units that I had not previously considered for my army.
You have to play the cards you are dealt with.
I play on normal settings, on offense I give the 'puter an extry 20 percent. I alternate offense and defense. Playing on defense, I give the 'puter an extra 30 percent.
As I get better, I suspect that I will have to give the AI an even greater handicap.
This is good. At some point, I will feel comfortable with going to Gamespy....and THEN getting my a$$ handed to me!
