Hello,
First of all congratulations to the EB Team. This mod for RTW and XL Mod for MTW are the best of all.
I have RTW + Alexander + EB 1.1 + Minimod Pack 2 with no problems and no CTDs (waiting 15 seconds in the battle report). I am playing with Romani trying to reproduce the real historic events and results up to now are good.
Some questions about role-playing with EB:
1.- How do you deal with the family tree if you play with Romani?. Because do not really reflect the senate. It is OK for the rest of the factions (kingdoms) but not for the Romani.
2.- There is no diplomacy with rebel regions?. For example to request protectorate to Syracuse.
3.- If you block a port you are blocking the trading but not the possibility to reinforce with troops from ships. Is there any way to block reinforcements by sea or the only posibility is to shink the enemy fleet wit our fleet?.
4.- I can stack several ships is they are cargo ships but I cannot if they are battle ships (only transfer tripulation between them). Why cannot I build a stack with several battle ships?. Enemy fleet can do it.
Thank you for your support.
1. I always imagine that it represents a political faction within the senate.
2. No, the game does not allow you to have any political relationship with the rebel faction. This is because the rebel faction is one big faction, so getting an alliance with syracuse (or any other diplomatic relationship) would get you an alliance with all rebel provinces (from scotland to india).
3. No, there is no way of destroying the ship making facilities by blockading the port. AFAIK, you can if you use an assassin to continuously destroy the military shipyards that make the boats.
4. I have no problem with stacking several battle ships into one fleet. I don't know what your problem could be.

4. If a battle ship has been in at least one battle, survived (obviously) and then you try to join it with another ship, then often they wont join. This is especially true if you try to join two fleets with each admiral at least one command star. You can build fleets up by placing an existing fleet in a ship building port, and build a new ship. That new ship(s) will automatically join the main fleet.
if you have some fleets together and they fight a battle. the one ship that is to the left is the leader of the fleet, and when they fight that ship refuse to give up hes command to another fleet in the same situation. but they can "trade" ships if they want to.
so you should have one leader-unit for each fleet, and if you split them up, or something to fight a new battle, you shoud have two fleets standing next to eachother and be reinforcements in every battle, if you dont want to send any of the leaders away

Having the entire Senate in the game would be a bit to much to handle (and wouldn't be possible to do with descr_start either). The Roman FMs represent the leading figures of the Republic. The starting 5 are not much, I must admit, but play some turns and the engine will bombard you with new FMs.
I just asume that they are legatvs (IIRC) -generals-
Imagine that - full stacks of FMs clogging all of Italia.:beam:
With all of the bodyguards it would turn the Romans into a cavalry faction. I agree with the above, the FMs you have are candidates that the senate has for governors and generals. Very soon you will have a wide choice anyway; I often have a lot in a camp near Rome.

This would be Imperial. During Republican times the FMs would represent the highest magistrates. After two generations you usually have enough to fill all posts from the two Consuls down to the four Aediles and most of the Quaestors. Roleplaying them sometimes means that you leave an office vacant even though you have unemployed FMs when none of these has either the inluence, the qualification or the prominent relatives to be elected to this office. In this case the office in question is held by the ever-present Caivs Romanvs Anonymvs.

He's a very, very rich shipping magnate who won the post in a game of dice from the military man elected to that office, isn't he? :laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:
In my Roman campaign he is just (250 BC) holding the offices of Praetor Pereginus, Praetor Urbanus Praetor Gallia Cisalpina, Plebeian Tribune, both Censors, two Aedileships and no less than four different offices as Quaestor - and all at the same time.
