Is there any mod that can make the AI a little more challenging when it comes to the battle map? Some battles are just too easy.

No the AI's stupidy is un-curable Lol.

If you want a challenge play Vh/Vh., that way you'l see the AI's armies as hard as bricks o.O

Helas, you are right, Dutchhoplite, but at least they don't route that fast when it comes to melee.
I play on VH/H and stil its kind of easy.

Have you tried any formation mods?

I like the "Darth Formations" mod, it's in the unnoffical mod forum under a big compilation set of formation mods here: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=90313

It doesn't make the AI brilliant, but it does allow it to more effectively maintain a formation (instead of just charging straight down the middle), and will also keep its missile units away from the fighting more often, and flank with cavalry. It still does strange or stupid things pretty often, but it performs much better than the vanilla RTW AI ever did- I'm fairly certain CA forgot to even include a battle AI with the boxed RTW game.

You could try to port EB over to Alexander expansion. In Alexander AI acts A LITTLE "smarter". VH difficulty justs makes the army units stronger to take down, but they still move around like morons. VH difficulty is not recommended for the campaign too, because even your elite units will have trouble facing the AI's basic units.
