Why You Like .Org? Is it Because it a nice fourm, or other reasons?
There been many threads about where you got your name, or how you came to .Org, but how about this. Why you like .Org? Because you know it well? You find what you need here?
I like it here because you guys make this a fun place. You got every type of a member here, people who to obess with this game (like me :clown:), people who come here only for 1 or 2 things, people who come here for fun, the whole 9 yards.
If you screw up here, people forgive and that's it.
You got nice Contests here, like the Annual HOF, Story/Poem, My Screenshot Contests, Mafia,IH's and so on.
Great Place :clown:
Your Thoughts?

Nice people, no swearing and diverse and interesting conversations!
The modding resources and the need for E:TW news keeps me here as well :juggle2:

x2 The .Org has become a forum I like for far more than just its use for my Total War games.
i prefer this to some others because it has successful mafia, twcentres mafia is mostly dead and theres loads of immature people on that site that sulk, people here tend to be more friendly :beam:
edit: though strike to the south has just threaten to beat me up, i may change my mind.... *runz*

This was the original total war site (well there was the official game forum for about a day or two) that i visited all those years ago when MTW came out. I guess I've stayed because of all the interesting things that have happened since and continue to go on.

I just think this is a more organized fourm. It not as big as TWC, but not as small as a small clan fourm. It Medium size :clown:

As for why i have stayed around for nearly 4 years? Routine, i guess. I use to come here everyday because i liked to talk about RTW. Now i've just got into a routine of visiting here at least once a day, even though to be quite honest it sometimes doesn't interest me. But that's only during slow weeks.

Well, sometimes language barriers are difficult to overcome, and people don't know to or don't want to be polite in how they phrase their inquiries.

Koga has largely hit upon the main reasons why I'm so fond of this place. The folks here are, by and large, a very friendly and intelligent lot -- much more so than many forums I've visited. While I originally found the Org back when it was the only real Total War site around, it's because of folks like Gregoshi and Frogbeastegg that I stayed. ~:)
Why do I like the Org?
Because I have an insaitiable appetite to increase my post count...

Because the people here are nice and actually usually writes with enough coherence to understand
And also, because the staff here is top notch. I've been in plenty of other forums, and I must say, the org staff beats every one of them by a mile easily. (I have seen way too many permanently banned people just because the moderator was having a bad day on some of these other ones.....)

I've been trying to figure this out ever since I stopped playing the TW games and MP regularly. Part of it is the chance that some might get together for "reunion" STW, MTW/VI, or SamWars MP games.
Otherwise it's like a virtual bar. Why do we favor one drinkin' hole over another, eh? I've become familiar with the denizens here, and most are a good lot over all. It's a casual thing, and the establishment is well run--a place to chill, read up on what's going on, and just ... chill, after a long day. I can find subjects being tossed about that interest me, not too heavy (now that I abstain from the Backroom), generally intelligent, oftentimes fun. I like the cultural diversity here. It's interesting to observe what people from around the world are talking about, doing, what their takes are on a variety of subjects. In a pinch you can get good advice from folks, and I think a lot of them actually do care a bit. It's a lot cleaner and more considerate than other forums--better than any of the other bars on the block.
And of course, I still have friends here. That's really the bottom line.

Like all good organizations, it's the people that you meet and interact with. Their endless willingness to help and humor never seem to end, and it's what keeps me coming back.
The only reason I still come is good people, IHs, and the chat.

It only seems like yesterday since I joined. :2thumbsup:
I know this is the internet and that you are all strangers save for your name, your posts, and those ugly pictures you have posted about yourselves. But of alllll the people, websites, and what-nots I've run into on the internet. This website, game or not, has one of the best, friendliest, and most trustworthy people I have seen. Front, Back, War or not, I get a feeling of trust from everyone, no matter the age. Some will joke, tell it straight, or give that much needed neutral opinion if you need it. I've never spilled my guts to anyone, but if I did, I'd tell it here...though probably through other formats.

Well, since I'm going to be on the .Org again I might as well make this my first post.
My reasons isn't for like or dislike of the .Org but was a journey to find something bigger than myself and katanks.
It all started all those years ago on my first expert level campaign in Medieval Total War. I was playing as the Byz and I was able to push the Turks from Anatolia after couple of decades. But the entire time I had my eyes on Antioch which was occupied by the Egyptians (whose homeland was occupied by the French). Try as I might and wave after wave of feeble charges by beloved Katanks and Armenian HC I could not dislodge them from that one province. I looked for a reason why, why would my katanks fail me and there before me stood the Scourge of Equestrians. The CAMEL. Then I was surrounded by sand and the wind was, but it couldn't be, yet it was pushing me down on my knees. Then came a flash of light and I could see why the wind was acting so abnormally. I was kneeling before the Patron Guardian of the CAMEL. It told me to renounce my foolish and uneffective horse worship and go, go and seek the Way of the CAMEL. After hours and hours of constant websurfing (it was actually a few minutes since I had visited the .Org before to learn about Sultan Ransoming.), I came upon the .ORG and began the long and ardurous study of the way of the CAMEL. I will continue to learn but so far I have realized one major principle of the CAMEL Philosophy. "Shut up and Shovel faster." To this day I have warred against the Saracens, Turks, Moors, and the occasional Mongol, but never again did I made war on the CAMEL.
That is the reason for my stay on the .Org and will continue to be until all CAMELS are dead/extinct.

Yep, I remember in M2TW I had conquered the whole map except Jedda, and I rushed a small cavalry stack across all the sands from Gaza, taking up quite a few turns. So I thought, great, I'll just charge in my General and the knights and take out these camels. I knew the camels had a bonus v cavalry, but I thought it meant they scared them and I thought that since my units had high moral and were more skilful in melee it wouldn't matter. What a shock I got when my horses started dropping like flies, I had know idea the camels got a huge combat bonus! :sweatdrop:
Anyway, six turns or so later an infantry stack sorted them out. :whip:
