XGM installation help

i need help installing this mod i have the latest version downloaded but when i try to install it i get errors during the installing and when i open(click on the application) it crashes. any ideas

I've move this to modding questions as it doesn't belong in the Forge.

What are the errors you get during installation? are you using Vista or anything unusual as an operating system?

Have you treble checked that you have the right patch / version before trying to install?

Ok, thanks, i do have the right patch RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6 i am using windows vista i get 2 or 3 errors during installation which i just click "Ok" to. it finishes installing and when the icon appears on my desktop i click it to run the game and when i click it Rome total war loads on my taskbar(bottom of desktop) but i get an error message saying something i didnt understand like "blah blah swordsmen missing skeleton"

Titus Magnus: As I said in the XGM thread, your original game files have been messed up by other mods. You need to re-install and re-patch RTW so that XGM has a clean data folder to work from.

i tried reinstalling my RTW. but i found out that when i reinstalled it i had the jullii brutii scipii and greek campaigns available then i checked saved games on the main menu and it had 3 saved games there. i tried to install XGM anyway but it failed again. patch.dat couldnt install. i need some help on how to install the game brand new witht the exisisting saved games, btw i did erase the activision folder after unistallation but the saved games werent erased

Dimebagho i have reinstalled rtw clean 1.5 and 1.6 and it failed again iwth the same message patch.dat failed
