Ok, I downloaded EB when I was recomended to by someone from a different forum. I liked the diversity of the units and the amount of efforts that have gone into it and couldn't resist playing it. I re-installed a clean R:TW in different area to Program Files. I have it patched to 1.5 and the Trivia Script installed. I've followed all the instructions to the letter.

The problem is every time I try to play it I get to the front screen (The 'Europa Barbarorum a Modification for Rome Total War' page) but no further, and if I minimise the window via any means it crashes to desktop and disapears entirelly. I've done all fixes that seem to apply and done the 'Validate Install' sequences (though got nothing).

It may be a simple problem, I'm rather nooby with some of this stuff. But regardless I thought I'd come here and give it a try.

If anyone could take the time out to try and help me with this it'd be apprieciated.

It can take a long time to load, particularly the first time. How long have you left it for because it can sometimes take a few minutes.

I usually leave it for as long as I can but usually it CTDs in about 10-15 minutes.

Anyone got any ideas at all on how to fix this?

Certainly. There are many suggestions in the validation post. Your not getting any result from the validation means you probably installed EB under program files, which could be the cause of the problem.

Erm nope I installed it and Rome Total War in a different area to program files. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that in my original post.

Yes, you did, sorry. Did you check the list of suggestions?

Yeah, I've gone through them again, just to check I didn't miss somethin'. I don't think I have, though I did somehow manage to download the EB music into Window Media Player, but other than that I can't quite see where I've gone wrong. I might uninstall it and re-download it. I may have a corrupt install anyway and something I don't know about on my PC is messing round with the validation system. It's a long shot but it's worth a go.

Have you updated java lately? That might make the validation work properly. How much RAM and virtual memory do you have? Did you try to upgrade and downgrade your display drivers?
