View Full Version : Your choice of Soda Pop

Simple enough. Pick your favoured/most suitable choice, and state the reason(s) why. This sort of situation always confused me, as I've known both die-hard coke lovers and pepsi-lovers in my life. I look forward to some enlightening info and opinions on each choice.

So, pick. I order you to pick! :egypt:

Hmm, not technically "soda pop", but a fizz drink still. Ginger Beer.

Where Dr. Pepper? What are you, some kind of pinko commie?

Pffft! Dr.Pepper is either a nameless Pop or under the category of Root Beer. :clown:

It is technically neither.

Bah. I drink little in the way of pop. I'm more of a "water/milk" person, in terms of non-alcoholic beverages.

My dad was a diabetic, so I just got used to not drinking pop. Tried it a couple of times, too much sugar for me.

As much as I've never called it soda pop, Coca-Cola wins, Pepsi close behind since I never noticed much difference.

I always found Pepsi to have a disturbing petrochemical flavor; plus if you look at it in a glass, it even has the same rainbow-ish sheen on the top that oil sitting on a puddle of water has. Therefore, I concluded long ago that Pepsi is actually a byproduct of oil production and is therefore not meant to be consumed by human beings.

Coke all the way.

Pepsi has a foul taste; as have all sugar free coca cola versions. I actually was once tested if I was able to tell which glass that contained Coca-Cola with sugar and which that contained Coca-Cola Zero; and I just needed to smell the content of the glasses to find out which was which. :2thumbsup:

I actually dislike sugar free sodas that much that I'd rather have some water instead. :whip:

Yeah, I voted Coca-Cola

Diet Pepsi.

Coke makes my teeth feel like there's a corrosive on them.

Now that I'm used to diet, all regular soda feels like syrup sloshing around in my stomach now.

+ 1 on that.. whats up with that anyway?

I drank a lot of Pepsi when I went on holiday to Spain and since then it's been my favourite. It is much nicer in Spain though, maybe because of the intense heat.

Irn Bru comes in a close second. I am Scottish after all...

Mountain Dew for me.

Don't know why you guys like Dr.Pepper so much, I personally can't stand it at all. Only drank half a sip of it in my whole life

Diet Coke or Dr Pepper for me. I'd agree with what other posters have said about regular Coca-Cola.

Not Irn-Bru?

Coca and Pepsi Cola are both awful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favourites:
Local brew: Solo (not the foul Auzzie stuff)
UK: Lilt
US: Mountain Dew

Coke, with 7up as a close second.

Drink way too much though, it's suspiciously addicting.

I have no idea. It's not just the sugar, I've had plenty of sugary stuff or fruit juices that don't create that feeling. I can literally feel stuff like... working away at my teeth when I drink coke. Maybe it's the nano-dinobots.

I do the Dew. ~D

A&W Root Beer is a fairly distant second, with Coca-Cola rounding out my top three.

Dr. Pepper is not soda pop. It is dirt mixed with root beer. That being so, it does not belong on this list! :clown:

Gah,

Barley Pop (since "products" such as those produced by Anheuser-Busch and other large American "breweries" cannot properly be called beer, as they are only useful for quenching the thirst after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day.)

Irn Bru, obviously, ice cold from a glass bottle is best.

Or for an evening, with vodka.
