Hi all
It's my first EB post and just wanted to ask a couple of questions about my current game.
I started my first game as Saba and things have gone well enough to begin with but two questions have popped up.
1. Movement - Being in a hot region, I try not to move my Army in summer but when I'm on a campaign I seem to get in trouble right away. Supply lines get strained and my movement suffers. Is there any advice anyone can offer?
2. The Target - Having struggled through to the target I begin the siege. But recently I was attacked by an outside army, 2 turns into the siege. It was a large Selekid(sp) force, so I decided to withdraw and come back with a bigger army. As soon as I did my army was lost. Was this to do with supply lines?
Thanks for any pointers.

this may be taking advantage of the game, but head your armies with capitans, because supply lines and exhaustion are traits (not permanent, but that was the only way they could be added in) given to Family Members. If you dont wanna do that, try building forts or marching on anyways

clarify this please? I don't get it, be more specific

OK forts sound like a plan. So will building forts to rest up in or outside the target city refresh my troops and supply lines?
Sorry I thought this was clear. When I decided to withdraw my army from the battle (I'm 90% certain I had movement points left, hence my army did not have to fight to the death) the army disappeared and my General had an Heroic death. If my army did not engage the enemy what killed them? Lack of supplies?

was there a fight to the death sign on the battle menu? (the thingy before you choose battle).
this usually happens due to the inability to retreat to home turf(or safety). you might have also been summer restricted at the time (a.k.a you might have been in summer), constricting movement, and hence retreat.

90% sure there was not.
Could summer restrictions cost me that whole army? Wish I had just fought to the death now! :smash:
i know what you mean, sometimes the entire army is wiped out when you retreat even if the 'fight to death' symbol isn't there. gotta be the most annoying thing in the world when it happens :furious3:

it was probably a fight to the death battle since you were deep into enemy territory. This seems to be a real problem in the game since I have seen a post just like this a few days ago, although it has never happened to me in game. just remember to save often, especially before battles.
Actually Bovi and/or Foot suggest that you dont save on the battle screen (when you're looking at the battle stats, before you fight the battle, autowin or retreat) as this risks bugs or CTD's or something similar. Try to save before you right click the enemy (attacking) or just before you press end turn (in case your attacked during AI turn)
Bovi and/or Foot suggest...
It appears you get the crash upon choosing a settlement's fate more often when you save directly before a battle.
