Were do I change so that my diplomat actually can speak to family members, cities and armies of opposing factions?

Were do I change the prerequisites for the the different reforms? Im on my second roman campaign and really don't want to wait to long for the marian reform...

So I what I want is the name of the files and what text to edit :help:

Thanks in advance to any kind soul who would help me with this :)

1. I'm not sure I follow. If you mean having your diplomats speak when engaging in diplomacy (as in they make sounds), that is impossible in RTW, and only appears in MTW2.

2. Full details on how to change the conditions can be found by doing a search of these forums (its a common topic). But to give you a headstart the file is called EBBS.txt and can be found in EB/Data/Scripts/Show_Me

1. my diplomats will only talk to other diplomats, not anyone else... thats really annoying as I need a ceasfire with the epirotes, and when I did a toggle_fow I only saw one other diplomat on the map and he was selucid...:dizzy2:

2. Thanks

1. I cannot think of any possible reason why that should be the case. That certainly isn't something we've modded or appears anytime I've played EB.

but... but... but... :furious3: :wall: :help:

or something

Edit: so no one else has this problem? Could it be fixed perhaps or do I have to reinstall the whole game?

try to engage a city of the Epirotes with your Diplomat.....if this don't work you have a serious bug, I wasn't aware before.

in which file can I edit settings for the diplomat? so that I can at least try to solve the problem before I reinstall?

There is no file where you can alter the settings that would have any effect on this issue. Its not a moddable part of RTW.

There is a way to mod who a diplomat can talk to. I remember that "Troy : Total War" had it where you can only talk to other diplomats. EB definately hasn't done anything like that, though. I don't remember what exactly you have to mod but it has something to do with the symbol that is given for a agent when selecting an enemy target, if that makes any sense. You could try searching the T:TW forums (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51) as I recall the question of how to change that being answered many times over there years ago.

aha, as it just so happens I do have troy installed as well at the moment, :p I'll try and uninstall that as I got bored of it a long time ago and can't find my RTW disk... Thx very much :D

Um, you should certainly not be running two different mods off of the same RTW installation. That is just going to get you crashes non-stop.
