Hello all!

After a long... absence I have pulled MTW2 off the shelf and reinstalled and am having fun replaying an out of the box (no mods) campaign. But it has reminded me of some of the shortcomings I had originally been exasperated by.

I could have sworn that in one of my long ago visits to this august forum that I read about a mod that allowed you to recruit troops specific to the local if you captured it.

As an example, I am playing Denmark and I capture Wales from the English. If I build or repair the appropriate structures I could then train/recruit Long-bowmen.

Does this ring a bell with anyone else or was I dreaming? I have searched on this sub forum but to no avail.

Any help would be mucho appreciatado ;)

Well Europa Barbarorum has it, but that's just a mod for RTW and M2TW is coming soon

Pro Deo et Rege has such a feature, friend.

I would post a referral link, but I seem to have lost my post count...

M2TW Kingdoms (Brittania Campaign) is like that-- it has "culture" vice "religion", so until your culture gradually takes over you can build "native" units. Not sure about the other Kingdoms campaigns.

There are also several mods like "Stainless Steel" and Broken Crescent" that have it to varying degrees. There's a guy named Point Blank that has a "Real Combat/Real Recruitment" submod that seems to be used by many base mods to implement Areas of Recruitment.

If you go to "twcenter.net" and search you will find a lot of stuff about this subject.

Cheers!
