I'm feeling pretty down right now. As in, cutting myself sort of down.

My Windows just cannabilized itself, and my EB and all its 70-80% complete campaigns with it (including almost done campaigns for the Romani, QartHadastim, Ptolemaioi, Hayasdan and Koinon Hellenon.

The worst part was that when I went to format, I swore my EB was on the other partition... apparently not.

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU............

Yes, but recover from a reformat? That shouldn't merely have erased the file from memory it should have erased it from the disk as well. Otherwise my understanding of diskformat is clearly lacking.

Your understanding of diskformat is lacking. It will merely format the file allocation tables. On the assumption that he didn't do a low-level format, of course. And that nothing else has been written on top of them in the meantime.

I think there are utilities that can recover files from a high-level formatted disk. I don't know if Recuva is that thing, but google it and see what you find.

Ehrm, he did just do a full OS re-install, didn't he? :inquisitive:

Heh I just had a similar problem. I just installed Windows again, it made a Windows.old folder, and I saved all I wanted before doing a format and clean reinstall. Now my computer runs better since I did the installing myself, plus I saved my EB games. :beam:

Yes. So some parts of the disk will have been rewritten. Not all.
