Game crashed on pushing end turn. On trying to restart game, it refused. Tried 4 times. Applied permanent fixes - game proceeded to load once more, but on trying to load save game “casse” game crashed at loading screen. Applied temporary fixes: game loaded, save game loaded, crashed during changing turn sequence after clicking end turn. Seems to crash on SPQR’s turn.

REALLY IMPORTANT INFO:
-Version 1.1 on RTW (not alex or bi.exe)
-No unofficial mods installed
-I have applied all the permanent fixes.
-I have tried all the temporary fixes.
-It still crashes with background script not enabled.
-I have tried over 3 times with continued crashes.

IMPORTANT INFO:
-I am unable to toggle_fow because the key I need is missing from my keyboard. darn laptop!
-I have diligently turned on the background script each time I have loaded, apart from the most recent couple of times when I was testing this crash. (see point 5 in ‘really important info’)
-The crash is occurring while the end turn sequence is ticking over, and it is on SPQR’s turn.
-I am not sure as to the where stuff happens, nor can I tell if a city is about to rebel. Certainly none of mine are.
-It is 248BC

(I've tried to go point by point through the information you ask to be responded to...please let me know if I've missed anything. Like I noted, some things I can't do (i.e. "toggle_fow" but I believe I've tried everything else!)

And THANK YOU in advance!

To solve your problem with toggle fow you can try the following (provided you've got an F1 key?):

Go to your EB/data/scripts/show_me (or show_me_how) >
Open genericScript.txt >
Find the line that reads:

console_command toggle_perfect_spy
>
On a new line, either above or below, add:

console_command toggle_fow

>
So the fragment now reads (lines may swap positions):

console_command toggle_fow
console_command toggle_perfect_spy

>
Save & Exit.

Now when you run your campaign game, you can use this script by pressing F1 selecting the question mark (?) button, and when the advisor pops up selecting show_me_how. Dismiss the advisor by clicking the dismiss (X) button. To turn the FOW back on/off simply run/activate the script another time.

Similarly, if you find any settlements that are about to rebel using that, you can add lines to reduce their population in order to prevent them from doing so, on the form

add_population settlementname -4000

have got the thing open that i can type commands into, and have removed fow. i have found two cities belonging to the romans about to rebel, rhegion and taras. however, i am typing

add_population rhegion -1000

and it is saying the settlement cannot be found. how can i find out the names of settlements that i should use? tried brettia rather than rhegion but with no luck. thank you - apologies for moronicness - i've tried searching the forums but with no avail.

and now having reduced rhegion and taras by a few thousand population each, the turns are running.

thank you so much for your help - i love my casse campaign!
