In one of my recent campaign's as the Byzantines after i took Venice from the Venetains because they were being an annoying pain,to my shock and Horror the pope decided that he wanted it. After mauling him twice with my full stack of mixed HA's and heavy calvary, can i expect him to keep trying to take it forever,or will he get the point that he can't take it after a bit, because it's already cost him close to 2500 troops, and seeing that I keep bringing in reinforcements via my fleet, and moving my depleted units out for re-training,I'd say his chances of winning are slim to none,at best, and I'd like to able to concentrate my forces against the timurids, who have just arrived.

Nah, the computer will continue to bludgeon its head against the wall. That's the way it works. At least you'll get some gold chevron troops out of the deal!

Dont worry man... those swiss guards arent all that great. I managed to beat them with my unupgraded militia swordsmen :laugh4: as I attacked Rome on my spanish campaign. Papal states are just a bunch of push overs. The only real threat is the pope's General bodyguard that actually beat my expensive Gendarmes  .
