View Full Version : Goodbye to the backroom

Oleander Ardens

I just wanted to say goodbye to the Orgahs of the backroom, as I won't be no longer a poster in this part of the Guild, bare a respones or two in this thread. Perhaps I still write something in the ETW sector. It was nice as long it lasted :book:

Rory summed up my thoughts nicely...

most members like to leave all dramatically with a big announcement, a series of accusations and alot of criticism... kadagar style...

but this is a bit empty, wheres the emotion.. the recriminations..

I hope to see you pop around some time. I enjoyed some of your posts about economics and stuff, though I usually don't post in such threads to hide my ignorance.

Why?

Seconded?

Goodbye Oleander! Take care.

I do second the motion for more drama and slamming doors! I demand you return to each and every single post you've ever made here and edit them to all to, say:
'Not enough censorship around here!!1!' , or
'I hate you all! I HATE YOU ALL!', or
'The evil bats that are hovering around my head made me do this!'

Another honest backroomer lost to the tyrannical mods.

I demand that we draw up a constitution!

Finally, the third estate will rise to prominance, no longer will the ordinary Orgah be subdued. The tyrannical mods, representing the first estate, will be removed from power - Tosa's henchmen will oppress us no longer, for there is no King without the Bishops Administrator without the Mods. The landed interests of the Senior members will be eliminated, destroying the second estate. The greatest power will no go to the greatest number, isn't Bentham happy!

Meanwhile, from now on, all those registered in the eyes of the site shall be called 'Gentlemen', after the manner of the citizens of the Venetian Republic; while all will have the powers traditionally held by Assistant Moderators, the wicked priests to the episcopalian Moderators.

With all members able to 'correct' each others posts, the collective will of the Backroomers will leave no text protected from our righteous crusade, and all posts will reflect the revolutionary sentiments of the average Orgah!

Uhm, so we're going to write up a constitution first and then devolve into an anarchist society? ~;p

I hate it when the Third Estate gets uppity and seeks to make revolution against the order ordained by divinity.

I suggest you state your grievances through the proper channnels. Then we'll look into them. Until then, I'm afraid I must assume you are, frankly, simply envious of the title and priveidges of us Senior Members.

How about you devote your energy on trying to raise your pityful self to our level instead of trying to bring us down?

I will fight you with my radical contractarian ideology! :duel:

As Francois Hotman will tell you, the absolutist Tosa has abused the power given to him by God, stealing it from the power given to the estates in the time of the early Frankish kings.

The recent oppression of our revolutionary ideal is a rebellion against natural law, and in turn a revolt against God!

Only the people are sovereign, and now is our time! Long live the revolution! :brakelamp: (random pic of vandalism)

Until then, tell it it to flies, peasant.

Our pigs will bathe in your bathtubs. There is no nobility any more, only fat merchants purchasing titles from Tosa as he desperatey raises funds for his hackings into the TWC...

Well... bye, and all the best. I hope your reasons for leaving are not of the negative kind; things tend to get heated in the Backroom but it is almost never personal. I hope to see you in the more relaxed and non-confrontational atmosphere of the ETW forum soon.

The backroom is like crack - you become addicted and when you get all strung out on it, you promise yourself to leave and never come back.

But like any addict you become drawn to the flame of your demise and you often return, unless of course you do like a few and leave the org completely.

You got to go cold turkey or you find yourself drawn back to your addiction

Not at all - I have never proclaim that I was leaving the org or the backroom. But I have watched many make such a claim and continue to return if they remain member.

A few have successful removed themselves from their addiction to the backroom, but not me, I just have slowed down my addiction to a few drafts compared to my previous addiction.

I have seen alot of people do it, its why i wouldn't do it myself.... even if there was something that had angered me i would leave quietly... and probably return quickly...

The backroom does have this qaulity that draws you in, i find its the people making statements that i just can't let stand... i have to say something...

Be silent Louis!

Remember that if he should raise himself to our level, however unlikely that is for such peasants, then we won't be able to talk smack about him behind his back in our special subforum. And we don't want that, now do we? :inquisitive:

Sorry to hear that you are leaving, OA.

You have posted some intriguing material, particularly on economics and investment, that has had me scurrying off to research further. That's always a good thing, so thank you for your positive and thought-provoking posts.

You are always welcome back!

Thanks for the nice replies, I'm certainly not leaving in anger, there were very interesting debates, it is always stimulating to meet people with quite different views. The Org is the only forum I really found homey, due to the friendly atmosphere and the good mods. I will still post a bit in the ETW section, back to roots again when I started to write about MTW and RTW.

You mean we WOULD have that if Lemur would be kind enough to return the access code. I know Banquo had it forever, and then when he finally let's go of it...

Besides, we need access so when can see about improving young Strike's edumacation.~;)

I just went back and read the watchtower thread – He was here for 5 years and only had 472 posts? He did add some spice for a bit, oh well, I would say my lesson is: Don’t forget about all the other fun areas at the .org, including the watchtower

I don’t confuse our posts very often (yours usually make more sense~D) I have the big avatars turned on so I always see your dude with the antlers above your game avatar. I choose it because it is the image that represents the Nodachi in STW, one of my favorite units, but so negative with the “No”, everyone says “No”; I’ll say “Yes” and thus was born the Yesdachi! the positive samurai. Any particular reason you chose it? My Avatar brother from another mother.
