As there is a rivalry 'twixt fans of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, so there is a similar, yet far more vicious, rivalry between the Allman Bros. fans and Lynyrd Skynyrd fans. Now, granted, you can kinda like one if you love the other, but you just can't love both. It takes an entirely different ind of person to love each band.

I must cast my vote for Skynyrd. As good as "Trouble No More" is, Skynyrd is THE Southern Rock band. Even those who will vote for the Allman Bros. have to admit that.

(No "Gah", by the way; because if you don't like Southern rock, you suck. And if you can't decide... flip a coin or something.)

I seem to recall a certain SFTS who is obsessed with Skynard. Hence Skynard must be awesome.

Meatball how could you even put the two in the same zip code. That to me is the utterly disgusting part. Why is this even a question?

There is more soul and music in the Chrous of Simple Man than all the Allmans Albums. This is heresy.

Nonsense. I was going to Skynyrd and Allman Brothers concerts probably when Strikes' Daddy was in diapers. I love 'em both, so tie me to the whipping post and gimme back my bullets while I eat a peach and flip you off some free bird.~;p

Skynyrd. I pretty much only listen to hip hop but whenever someone puts on skynyrd i like it. And i'm not even Southern!

Nobody OD'd... Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. And Ronnie Van Zant died in a plane crash.
