Of course I am talking about the book-club. My nominations;

1) - Jung Chang, Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China

An excellent book that spans no less then 3 generations in communist China, while reading it you can't help feeling as if you know the place, and when you are done you consider the characters to be family.

2) - Romeo Dallaire, Shake hands with the Devil, the faillure of humanity in Rwanda.

The memoires of an eye witness of the events in Rwanda, needless to say that this is a very tough read, but very much worth it. It was written 8 years after the war so as an eyewitness account it's of little use but it's interesting to see someone react when his believe in human decency is being completily destroyed, the author is just as interesting as the events.

Zero replies. Which, I guess, speaks volumes about the interest in a book club restart.

There are four or five people willing to join the Obama book club. Which is not enough to make that a lot of fun either.

Maybe we can start a DVD club? We can all buy/rent/miraculously conjure up on our harddrive a movie to watch and discuss?

Let's have a Halo 3 club.

Also, The Alchemist will most likely beat down anything anyone will nominate around here.

Sadly I'm not even getting a chance to read history books much at the moment as between work, up and coming exams and... well, other work is eating up time rapacously. After this lot I have to admit to feeling like my brain is porridge.

They both sound like good books. I'd be willing to read one/a couple over my winter break. I don't have much time during school.

Make it a comic book club and I am in. I read 5-10 a week. :2thumbsup:

The Walking Dead (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead) and Invincible (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invincible_(comics)) are at the top of my list!
BTW – the Wiki articles are insanely detailed.
