I know that for the Romani you type in 'give_trait " (first name) Romanvs" (trait name)'
But I am still confused on what to type for the other factions, I have tried typing the full name (with lots of variations) when playing Hai, but have been unsuccessful. Is there a list of what to type for the individual factions? If not, I would appreciate people chipping in so I could make a comprehensive list. Thanks.

If the FM has one name, give_trait name
If they have two names, give_trait "firstname lastname"
If they have three names, give_trait "Firstname Secondnamelastname" - note the third name must not have a capital
If they are "So-and so of somewhere" (E.g. Gaius of Roma) give_trait "Firstname of_place"
Hope this helps

like i said I have tried that with Hai, and it does not seem to work:
give_trait "Artavazd Yervanduni" tells me that character cannot be found.
Tried Aduei as well with give_trait "Tancogeistla" and same thing there and it was the only name he had.

I don't think the Hai names have accents, but if they do that could be a problem.
It is also possible, though unlikely, that there is a person with exactly the same name.
If so, give_trait "Artavazd YervanduniA" or give_trait "....B" etc. However I have yet to see this work.
For some reason, it seems that certain FM's are undetectable, even if they have one name, no accents. I have seen this happen with the Saka.
Unfortunately there's not much more I can do to help.

Nope nothing. Are you sure there isn't something similar to the Romans with first name then faction name with the other factions, or are the Romani the only ones who do that?

I always thought it was that way for the Hai. Do a forum search if you haven't already. I remember this topic coming up before. Also, check the EB Traits FAQs.

I have typed in remove_trait and it comes up error so I am guessing no.

You can, indirectly. give_trait Name(or "Firstname Lastname", etc) Trait 0 will remove it, although the trait's internal name can be tricky.
What trait are you trying to give him? If its battle related, you could auto_win, or if its a supervisor trait, process_cq a lot of buildings...
Sorry, I don't think I can be of any further value.

Further research on the TNA FAQ (not the actual FAQ but from the questions asked) indicates:
Use -1 to remove a trait.
Names shown in game may not be the actual internal name needed for give_trait. Which brings up the question how do you know what its internal name is if its not the same one as shown in game?

Been searching through the character name list and have found no difference between the names I have inputed into the RomeShell (shown in game) and that found on the text list.

Except that quite a few names got such middle & last names you don't even see. For example: ofarmenia, ofparthia, catuvelaunus, steppewulf...

While we are at it, perhaps it would be a good idea to publish a list of how the internal names work. I think the ordinary firstname lastname is rather an exception in EB...

Can you give an ethnic trait using a faction that cant get it normally?

Technically I think you can give any trait you want to any general, no matter the culture. However the effects of doing such a thing will probably be not worth whatever value you're getting from the trait. I don't think it could cause a crash but stuff could get messed up quickly, especially for sons of the general.

I don't know about you, but I would probably have more fun experimenting with the ethnic traits and generals then I would waiting for an answer from an EB team member who may or may not have a definitive answer.

Makedonia : Xxxx ofmakedon ?
Actually no. The internal names of Makedonian FMs are their in-game names as well. So no changes there.
As for typing names on RomeShell, remember you have to shift-press the " button twice.

I wasn't sure about that one (hence the "?")
Thank you for pointing that out.
Also it has to be arverni (and not averni).
And the "oi" can also be "moc" etc...
Thank you ACIN

It wasn't meant offensively (sorry if it sounded as such). Just pointing out the facts, as I'm using console commands quite often lately.

How do i differentiate between 2 characters with the same name? I have a diplomat and a FM called Tiberivs Cornelivs...
MarcusAureliusAntoninus

For the Romans, you can hope that they have different interal names (Tiberivs, TiberivsA, TiberivsB ... TiberivsK). If they happen to have the same interal name, then the game will only recognize one of them with codes. If it is not the one you want, you'll have to kill him to get the one you want to be recognized with the codes.

So, when do you have to add them? I can move/reset/give_trait most FMs of the factions in bold without any problems. (Haven't tried for the others yet.)
Also is there a file were you can look up the "real" trait names?

Addition:
Some even 4 names wearing fellows sometimes only must be adressed with only 2 of those names (happend with AS) and if there's an apostrophe in the name, it's to be ignored (Ivomagos d'Aler becomes Ivomagos arvernidAler) ; also often appears with Saba-FM. And you have to keep capital letters as they are. ivomagos arvernidaler won't work.
