pretty much and often how serious someone is too, i'll do a new test each day there are some fascinating figures and facts, it's amazing how we react to certain things which individually make us look like prejudice fools :clown:

Well im not even completely sure about the complaining one (as in im only aboutn 85% sure), but arrogance is far more a male vice than a female vice, maybe you could explain it to us fools....

What sort of test is this? All people of either gender can be any of those, so I'd put them all in the middle if that is an option. I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to seperate them into gender groups.

(Yes, these traits apply better to individuals than to sexes, but (for example) when I think of arrogant not a single female comes to mind. Similarly I can't think of any prudish males in my circle. Plus this sort of psychobabble is much more fun when you just play along.)

What the hell is with y'all saying guys are more sly? No way. A guy being sly is the equivalent of a girl being normal.
I've noticed most here attribute 'complaining' to females.

Culturally men who complain tend to be worse off than women who complain maybe?
I don't think I could reasonably put them in any sort of order. I tried to when you first opened the thread, but I ended up not feeling strongly about at least eight of them.

Most people seem to think naive would be girlish. I strongly doubt that... men are far mor naive imo.

i liked martoks discovery  and little grizzys, the ones to point out were pointed out by most people :) this survey was done worldwide with 300 words, me only picking 10 because i couldnt see anyone doing that many!
the results were that the more negative ones were for the sexes
i.e: male arrogant, women: complaining, and the majority of people thought the postive belongs to both, overall though the women were seen more positively though not necessarily a good thing, though these are mostly stereotypes from our own experiences, no one person, as someone mentioned can be branded under one category, a man can act like a woman, this is his gender, though biologically they are of the male sex
there is no wrong or right answer to this question, though the majority of you said what was said when this experiment was first carried out.... in the 1930's so the main thing to take away from this is attitudes to certain behaviors probably haven't changed much since the 80 years or so of this experiments first use!

how many legs does phanpy have? :laugh4:

He has 4 legs...the real question is how many feet does he have?
edit: I propose we carry out a version of the stanford prison experiment and confine 7 orgah's to a single thread while giving another 3 orgah's unlimited mod powers in that thread.

fine, how many legs and how many feet does phanpy have?

Sorry, edited in my answer.
Only one leg is complete and attached, as opposed to implied.
Edit:
Everything else would then belong to itself.
Rhyfelwyr
11-20-2008, 20:25
The answer would I think be a minimun of one, maximum of 4 (3 on the other side could be attached, though they look a little awkward for that to be the case).
Maybe there could be an absolute max of 5, if you count the leg which seems to protrude from his mouth and is myteriously pale at the top in comparison the the rest.

Ha, he reminds me of the girl who was born with 4 legs and 4 arms.
I only see one complete leg with foot. All the others... just don't seem to fit...
Gah. Looking at those types of pictures/drawings always makes my head hurt. :dizzy2:

He is floating in the air with 3 incomplete legs (or stumps) and one complete leg with a foot, some cruel hunter has placed 4 feet inbetween and next to where his feet should be, possibly the hunter is cutting off family members feet one by one until the elephant agrees to float around as a circus act for him...

LOL, i assure you no animals were harmed in the making of this
OK, thank you for your participation  the answer is none, well that can be debated, but the overall effect is none, this is why....
we perceive this elephant to have legs, but just legs that are misplaced, we wouldn't question how possible this actually is, however it is not possible for this to actually make a real 3D model, it wouldn't have attachments for its legs, it's body would be floating in mid-air, only it looks possible as a 2D picture in front of you :beam: so out of all the speculation the thing most can conclude is it's legless, though this isn't based on fact but more a lot of thought :juggle2: others may conclude it has one leg as one appears in the right place, another valid reason, make what you will of it :)
So the thing to take away from this is things aren't always what they seem :dizzy2:
Experiment 3:
:wizard:
(Do bare in mind that I'm quite limited with what experiments i can perform on an internet forum, somethings just have to be done in person)
Impression tests:
There are two people, here is a description of each person:
Person 1:
Intelligent
Skillful
Warm
Determined
Practical
Cautious
Industrious
Person 2:
Intelligent
Skillful
Cold
Determined
Practical
Cautious
Industrious
With this information, please describe person one and person two (only very briefly, a few descriptive words will do) GO! :clown:

I would say that person 1 is Intelligent, Skillful, Warm, Determined, Practical, Cautious, Industrious, and likes tacos.
Person 2, on the other hand, is Intelligent, Skillful, Cold, Determined, Practical, Cautious, Industrious,
and is plotting to become dictator of the world where his first action will be to make eating tacos punishable by death.
Nice observation :2thumbsup:
Person 1 is alive. Person 2 is dead.

Person 1 and Person 2 are pretty much the same except Person 2 is a sociopath.
good, if any others are willing to post there views in a serious manner of course, id prefer not to move on without enough people trying this one first :beam:
Person 1 is a door to door salesperson and person 2 is a politician.
heh i'd say they were both cold but meh
anyway generally when these to characteristic sets were given out WITHIN a large group of people, the traits with person 1 were assumed as 'kind, friendly, brilliant' person 2 was described mostly as 'quite, lonely, spiteful' all other traits were great, only the words 'warm' and 'cold' differed, it shows mostly how certain words have a sharper effect on people, for this one word to overpower the 7 accompanying it, it also (even though i provoked people to class it as personality) could just be referring to a persons temperature showing how set the mind is in its thinking of course your answers were mostly jokes and on different thoughts, i just stated what many other people stated when experimented

lols well it can still be debated, i'm not giving any definite answer, i dont no everything, still a pic worth sharing :clown:
yeah thelines are the same length, only the arrows pointing out in different directions percieves one to be longer than another, while most would realise the lines themselves are the same, your first thought upon seeing them is undoubtedly different, until your mind had had time to a just to this abnormality
