1. Your City will shut down
2. It will kill you

how? what? i love the snow, the more i'd love the snow if we ever had any :wall: every christmas it just rains and rains! and snow barely ever comes, if it does it turns into a thin dirty slush by morning, and to think UK used to be flooded by it 20 years back, global warming for you....

I woke up to about an inch or two of snow this morning. We were supposed to get a dusting but by a fluke, a band of heavy snow sat over us. Meanwhile, 15 miles away there was nothing but flurries. I do like the snow but I don't like shoveling the driveway. There is nothing quite like the hushed silence of a snowfall. The whole world seems at peace then. Love it.

If the weather up here is as usual, I'll get one day of snow this Christmas, then three days of slush.

Currently suffering the worst period of storms in twenty years. Apparently the biggest one for a week is tonight. Last weekend it knocked out half a million or so houses, threw some stuff around. Not in my area though :sweatdrop:

There is nothing like trudging through gray sludge for 20 minutes to get to your local grocery store. And then there's the return trip, laden with groceries, uphill.

I ******* hate snow.

Depends on whether or not I need to actually do anything. Shoveling snow sucks. Having to do anything outside while its snowing sucks, except for playing football. If I can just be cozied up inside and watch it, I think it can be rather serene.

I believe snow is the work of the devil. It causes people to skid on ice and get maimed or killed!!!! Insanity, I tell ye, insanity!!!

Hee! As a Minnesotan, I always laugh when I read/hear reports of snow down in Texas and Florida. The reactions of the people down there is freakin' hilarious. :laugh4:

Incidentally, nothing here yet. I very much prefer it stay that way through next week, but I know it's a vain hope. :sweatdrop:

My dad lived in Dallas for a few years. He said it was very entertaining watching the traffic helicopter shots of Texans trying to drive in the snow and spinning off the road into the grass. Of course, I don't think he felt the same way when he was out driving with them. :sweatdrop:

Heh, I know, right?

We had a dusting here in Happy Valley this morning. It snowed a decent amount during the day and there is probably an inch on the grass. Personally, I don't mind snow. What I mind is the cold weather that comes with it.

Are you kidding me?! It's bad enough as it is right now up here in Canada, but when the dead of winter hits, we'll be trudging through a meter of snow. I'm not joking, man! I wish it would stay autumn forever. Autumn is the best, most beautiful seaon. Shame.

I love snow. There is nothing like walking to class through a flurry. Of course then I'm not really in the mood for class, but since when am I???

Going outside, being inside, pretty much everything is made better by snow. Though you have to be careful on the roads.

Actually I quite like snow - if it is real snow and not just a little bit that is melting away again after a day or two.

This weekend it snowed for the first this year in our area, which meant that I actually had to get up earlier today to shovel snow - one of the momenets that made me doubt that is was a smart move to buy a house this year :sweatdrop:

We live within a mile of the Lake Erie shoreline and received 2-3 inches of snow over the weekend, most has melted. However, up on the Chautauqua Ridge, several miles south, they have had up to 30 inches already. Cold Canadian air coming across the open and relatively warm waters of Lake Erie can produce substantial amounts of "lake effect" snow. Depending on wind direction one area can be experiencing a white-out blizzard, while a mile or two away there's nothing. I like the snow better than the mud, but like everything else I prefer it in moderation.

My nephew checking out the aftermath of a "lake effect" snow storm up on the ridge a couple of years ago.

I do not like the mud when it starts melting though.

We rarely get good snow over here, most of the time it's just a tiniest bit that melts in the morning hours, adding wetness to the cold temperature.

And frankly I'd take a mild winter over snow and ice any day of the week. Snow is only good for skiing. Winter sucks, and I haven't even mentioned the depressingly short daylight.

They say it snowed like hell ( :P ) the day I was born..........then we moved to the hottest state in the country, which is all desert, so I've never really seen snow. Was hit really hard by a golf ball sized hailstone once, but never snow.

Snowed the day i was born, loved it as a kid, mixed feelings now as an adult, i hate the freezing cold weather that comes with it but snow is lots of fun even if its just walking across an unspoiled patch of snow...

In uk we hardly ever have snow anymore, i remember a little bit as a kid but these days its a rarity to even get one decent covering of snow in a year, usually we end up with mostly slushy crap that makes walking hazardous...

lawl. We had snow here in eastern Canada for 3 days. Right now it's 14 (that's spring time warn for you none metric types) and raining. There won't be any snow till after the wet season. End of the month that is. I also prefer winter, spring and autum are far too wet and miserable. And summer isn't fun if your allergic to pollen.
