Just install EB 1.2 and (providing you already have BI installed) then right-click on the EB desktop icon and select "Properties". Find a line that shows the path that is selected by the icon (something like Activision/Rome-Total War/EB/blabla/RTW.exe) and replace the "RTW.exe" with "RTW-BI.exe". Should be working now, unless you haven't copied the BI files inside the folder you created that contains the EB files.

Now when you double-click on the icon you will play EB normally, with the only difference that you will have BI AI. If you want to implement BI features such as shieldwall or hording, you will have to do quite some changes. Contact me through pm if you wish to do so and I'll try to help you.

Have fun,
Maion

Hi Maion Maroneios,

Thanks for offering to help me in more detail but I've managed to get 1.2 running on the BI engine now...

Oh many hours of EB goodness this evening :-)

I just installed 1.2 and opened the same shortcut I used to play 1.1 with BI.

Some things seem to be working, other things don't seem to be working. I have the option (but as always no general capable) of attempting a night battle, and I have no banners. The AI is also most likely BI AI. All the 1.2 changes are also implemented.

However non of my units have the ability to swim. I'm also not sure about the shield wall, and what is hoarding? I've never heard of this aspect of BI.

hoarding is the ability to survive as a nomadic faction without controlling any cities.

Since these abilities are not present in R:TW 1.5, no units have been given them. You need to mod them in yourself. Hording (and not hoarding) means that a faction will gain a large "horde" army when their last settlement is conquered. They can use this army to reestablish themselves elsewhere. Again, this has to be added manually since it is not present in EB.

Yeah, especially hording requires quite a few manual changes so I recommend you just stick without it, as it may cause problems. Even I don't have a clear idea as to how I did it myself!

I had the swim ability in 1.1, I used the EB/BI installer and it put that in. But it seems that there will have to be an update for 1.2

there's an installer for BI in the unofficial mods section. just dont select the EDU changes when you use it...

another question, I never set eb with BI because there where problems with the engine not recognizing the homelands( gaining the rationing supplies while in lands you own) is that fixed?
they says it would be fixed in eb 1.2 butt i don't see it standing between the features :S

We don't support EB on BI or Alex. AFAIK that problem is unfixable as the command that works in RTW that we use does not work in BI. No matter what we do it won't work in BI, so no it is not fixed.

I have never heard of this, honestly. I also have never experienced something like that as well.
