View Full Version : Frozen Hourglass at beginning of turn
At the end of the ai's turn and beginning of my next turn the hourglass that pops up while messages are falling down and such never goes away. Because of this i cant click on anything, which pretty much means i cant do anything.
Im playing Romani rtw.exe and its the spring of 186 bc. I've tried running a turn without the script on (which works) but then when i turn the script back on it happens again.
If anyone has encountered this prob i would love some help!
oh and heres the save. http://files.filefront.com/Romani3sav/;12434625;/f
Also, anyone who cares, parthia is gigantic and i am scared.
thanks in advance!

You should probably revert to an older savegame. Chances are the same situation won't arise again. Or start a new campaign with 1.2, if you prefer.

I've just run into this rather unfortunate problem myself. Reloading my save from the previous turn does not fix the problem. It occurs every time I hit end turn.
Oddly, its like the AI's turn has not ended. Escape works to bring me to the menu, but the save game function is disabled. I can also enter RomeShell and enter commands, and I can double-click on things (such as armies). But I can't move them or even see their available moves, single-click on anything, open messages, etc. Keyboard commands and shortcuts continue to work (although this does not allow you to really do anything).
Its 148 BC and I am running version 1.1 on BI (and rather reluctant to give up on a game that's lasted this long and taken around 4 months to play..)
More odd stuff: right clicking causes the hour glass to begin its clockwise spin anew. When it has rotated 180 degrees, it stops rotating completely, until you brush against the edge of the screen (so it becomes a direction arrow). Then it returns to a rotating hourglass again.
Left-clicking on the mini-map, however, does work, bizzarely.
I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to get around that problem. My only suggestion is to try an older savegame, and since that doesn't work for you, the only alternative I can see is to start a new campaign.

I was afraid you'd say that.
Ahh, well. I suppose this is a good time to download 1.2...
