In the game what is his internal name, I can't figure it out.
The other Hamalcar is, Hamalcar ofcarthago.

In the descr_strat folder is says his name is Hamalcar Barca, but I just can't get it to work.

Maybe someone here can help.

It should be "Hamalcar Barca"...

Right, it should be, but then again it's not...
Any other suggestions?

Did you use the quotes when typing it in?

because you need to

Yep, quotes and everything, I use move_character all the time, so I know I have to put quotes around names? Would anyone like the save, so maybe they can figure it out?

There was a Hamilcar in the codes at one point... is that his internal name?

Just Hamilcar or Hamilcar ofcarthago?

Here is the save:

Its because your faction leader, inside Cathage itself, is also called Hamalcar. When you try to move "Hamalcar ofcarthago" it moves your faction leader rather than your general, which makes him invisible and causes a bug.

Well, yeah... I knew that. I know his name isn't Hamalcar ofcarthago, that's my faction leader's name.
I pretty much gave up, I tried everything...

If you have two guys with the same internal name the commands can only recognize one of them. It is therefore impossible to effect the other guy while the first still lives. However, it is impossible to have two guys with the same name at the beginning of the game. Since they were both there at the start they should have different names. I don't know what to tell you. "Hamalcar Barca" should be his internal name as far as I can see.

I guess the A-K thing only works for the Romani eh? sint there a rule for other factions? Or does the ofcarthago count?

What A-K thing!?
There is a HamalcarA in the name database or whatever it is called.

the A-K thing refers to the romani internal names thing like "LvcivsA Romanvs" for a character whose first name is "Lvcivs". I suppose this is to make the rest of their name match their Gens trait.

however I also noticed in the descr_names file, for certain factions their names end with A or B such as for Pontos there is a "AlkimosA" all the way to "PhiletairosB" for the first names.

Well, I figured it out, it's Hamalcar ofcarthago. To make this work, you have to kill the first Hamalcar ofcarthago.

Wow. That's quite a sacrifice simply to move a character.
