I'm not sure if you guys have been made aware of this, but I thought that I should throw it out there.
I was browsing the Stainless Steel submod forum and saw a really cool idea: Use Oblivion's Face Gen tool for realistic faces.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=206784
This way, you can make lots of highly detailed faces with minimum effort. Plus you can make more 'ethnic' faces as well as have lots of different artists create faces that look more consistent because you use the same tool. Anyway, the guy who did it has some rough examples of greek units.
Hopefully they won't look like this. (http://i.somethingawful.com/mjolnir/images/acetone~oblivion17.jpg)

I think they'll just import the faces from RTW. It's the simplest method, isn't it?

Ah yes, of course! The property of CA. Well, the future is in a witch's chauldron...

CA gave Jidai no Ran permission to use the old S:TW music for their mod, so they may give permission for this as well.

Sorry, but the old faces sucked. I like the ones in MIITW better.

Uh... Ok? That is an extremely anti-social thing to say... :beam:
Y'know what? Why don't we just submit personal portraits in for EB? Take a picture, and EB artists coud use this tool to edit them in small ways. It'd be pretty awesome, I think. I'd love to have my face in the game.

You better be careful, Irishman. The EB Team isn't kind to those who aren't willing to sacrifice themselves for the glory of EB. It's like a police state in this forum...
Not so fast, Methuselah...
So the Russians are still good at spying, I see. Is that all you can do? :clown:
I am for once agree to loan my God like face to be put into EB2 :beam:.

Sorry to revive an old topic, but FaceGen can be quite useful depending on how you use it.
Using FaceGen and five minute of Photoshop:

Scipio Africanus would probably look better if I spent more than a few minutes, but FaceGen just saved me a lot of time in regards to painting his face. This could be an alternative if the EB team decides not to import portraits from RTW.

The Beauty, this should be used, extremely cool. And you said this took you a few minutes, so a lot of faces like this could be made, so cool!

Just keep one style or use FaceGen and stylize them according to how the other units look like in EBII. Consistency is the absolute more important thing to keep.
What you REALLY should use this thing for is portraits.
Even if you did import faces from RTW you need to have multiple faces for use within each unit.
And I think they have a pretty damn good technique going now however they are doing it, taking that roman soldier preview into consideration. He is as sexy as I am!! Although who knows how much work that took.

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous. I think I'll try out that program with some of my own personal pictures because I agree with this guy who posted more than half a year ago:

Well, as he said, it was done in 5 minutes. Had he given himself a bit more time, I'm sure it would look much better.
Oh yeah we know the tool.

I've made it a habit to soak up your statements with a degree of mistrust.

Which isn't a bad idea. However this tool has already been used by some of our graphical artists. For example for skinning faces of certain units.

The question now is can we use the tool to spam different faces for horses, elephants, and of course the incendary pigs.
PS. I was glad to see eyebrows on the Camillian units.

And the most important of all, how are we going to spawn faces for the camels :clown:
And btw, I think that tool is better for portrait faces. so no incendary pigs :smash:

Ancillary:
Master of Incendary Pigs: +2 vs elephants
"I love the smelly of burnt bacon in the morning, smells like... victory..."
PS. Anyone feel up to doing a facegen of Hannibal?

Master of Incendary Pigs: +2 vs elephants
"I love the smelly of burnt bacon in the morning, smells like... victory..."
Head Chef: +3 vs elephants
"Is that bacon in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"
P.S. Hannibal statue would be very cool.
