Hi all,
So I just got a new macbook pro, and I migrated my previous WinXp volume to the new machine...however, when I try to start EB, I get the following error message after it crashes at title screen:

Script Error in eb/data/descr_settlement_plan.txt, at line 2788, column 53.

File data/settlement_plans/slot_overlays/overlay_plaza_roman_192x192m.cas does not exist.

No idea what this means and the installation on my old maching continues to run perfectly...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A blank file means the validation failed to run. You have upgraded to 1.2, right? It should give you some feedback before and after running. What does it say?

Actually have not upgraded. I am way deep into an excellent Romani campaign and want to finish before upgrading to 1.2...

I'm going to try a couple of other things...i.e. a fresh reinstall and then just copying saved games over...the save games are transferable, yes?

Thanks again.

Oh yes, the savegames can be transported. Anyway, you may not have installed Java yet, and the validation needs that. You can try to install the latest Java Runtime and then run the validation again.

Ok. Will tray that first tonight and report back. Thanks for your attention and help.

Just to add something that is relevant to his problem... my validation has always turned up as a blank page, but my EB has always worked perfectly and never has crashed at the title page. I have been playing since 1.0 and every single installation has turned up blank page with no problems, so its not even a fluke. Just putting that out there for some input back and future reference.

I know. It either says Java isn't installed (easily remedied) or that it can't find the class (don't know how to fix this).

Well, I did a reinstall of my whole Windows partition using WinClone, and now its working perfectly...so all is well. Thanks for tip re: Java though.

Bests,
