:idea2:
In M2TW Kingdoms; Crussader, any FMs can build stone forts, and in Brittania, the stone forts are permanent... I'm just curious, if the Roman / Greek forts are upgradeable (initially wood, but can be upgraded into permanent stone fort) in EB II can recruit and retrain mercs / low levy units. So everyone can get reinforcements and retaining when they play a far flung campaign in enemy territory... I think its a good idea...:egypt:

I'm not an expert but I don't think this is possible. I'm pretty sure that at least one of the numerous Kingdom-based mods out there would have used this feature if it existed.

though its possible for Generals to recruit mercenaries while garrisoned inside a fort in RTW IIRC, I don't think it would be possible for the stone forts to spawn soldiers; if you're referring to the fort having a recruitment-queue like feature.

err... I think that we can add a buliding (perhaps some kind of barracks) that needs to be built in the forts in EDB
we can use
settlement_min fort
(BTW, what is the fort building in EDB?) :p
or something else... maybe???
But recruiting Mercs in forts is fun to have arround...
Historically, some campaigning armies recruiting levied soldiers (sending them on the point of the sword, not coins / as mercenaries) when they fought on campaign, and there was quite logic if my Roman generals capable to force the local Greeks to fight as akontistai for them... in the fort:2thumbsup:
And at least, I suggest the recruitment - able forts to cost ridiculous 24000 minai, and have 2400 minai for upkeep per seasons... so if you spam the forts, their upkeep will end up eating yourself...

Maybe an option to recruit auxilliaries in forts would be nice. But these auxilliaries should be few in number as units available, weak and slightly expensive, so they don't become an exploit.
The mechanism should work just like getting mercenaries, but only in the forts.
Would be fun :D

Is it even possible to implement? :inquisitive:

IIRC you can´t build buildings in forts, not even the permanent ones, so how would you be able to build a barracks there?

Info takes time to travel through the ranks. I assume...

Yeah, probably nothing to worry about. Even the great MAA and Foot can know absolutely everything every single EB team member works on or considers to might someday in the future work on.
The conclusion here is probably that it's highly unlikely it's possible, but we haven't looked very hard. Anyway, given the multiple recruitment slots of M2TW you'll probably not have any use for recruitment elsewhere.
Appo, I think you'll find something of mine to that effect pretty easily too, if you're collecting.

So... You mean to say you have no clue? :dizzy2:

I've actually done very little modding on M2TW (and EB2), personally, and base my answers on these forums on what I have read on the internal EB forums. One of the reasons I rarely answer technical questions on the M2TW engine.

Yes. I was trying to stop your idle spamming.
