Ok, everybody, time to vote. I've been busy with the end of this semester, so I hadn't gotten this up as soon as I had planned, sorry. This week had so many pictures it almost needed an internal poll before posting this poll, but since time is short I'll just make a single public poll. This may be the last batch of editted pictures. Vote! I'll give this poll a week...

mine goes to king hamalcar takes vellika back
it has a very heroic and realistic feeling without editing and thats a rare sight
and if I had second votes, I would vote for general appo's :D

Wow, what a selection this month. I remember seeing Wonderland's a few weeks ago and thinking there won't be any come close, but a few do and I would have voted for 15 if it wasn't for the bottom right. Number 10 for me, though I think 17 and 9 are excellent too.

After considerable deliberation, I decided that number 7 was clearly the best, and voted for it.

At first glance, I wasn't too impressed with this months pictures. Only the "mood" picture of Centurio Nixalverdrus stood out from the mass. At the second glance I noticed some very good pictures and many good pictures. Especially (in number order) SwissBarbar's "Battle of Raphia" is a nice "chaos" -type picture and well photoshopped, ludwag's "Vote for me" had a good use of vision blur effect, but was a little too crowded for me, The "Sacred Band Charge" by chenkai11 has a really good composition on the front, but the emptiness of the background sadly takes away from the whole, and the "Sabaen battle lines" is really a great picture with awesome composition. The great looking mountains and that little forest on the background, the high quality graphic settings and the realistic looking battlelines were so good I almost voted for this one.
But, my vote went to Centurio Nixalverdrus. That picture has such a great mood and composition. The last standing infantry man staring the two lancers. You can just see the scene in your head! The two horsemen almost feeling pity on their last enemy, who stands there waiting for his certain death, knowing that the battle is lost, his life is over and only the afterlife and gods have any meaning to him anymore.

Some common courtesy would go afar. For example stating what is good in the picture and also what is wrong with it. Maybe giving hints on how to make better pictures. You know, giving positive criticism instead of calling it rubbish. Even though you smoothed your comment, it is quite abrupt and rude.

You should never just say that something just "sucks", ever. If you don't tell him why you don't like it, and what he can do to improve it, it just serves to put him down, and you'll only look rude for it. It's all called constructive criticism.
I voted for #10.
It was between 1 and 2 for me, basically because, although I'm generally against editing too much, and seeing as the December screenshot wil have no editing, I feel these two both look straight out of a movie scene.
It was difficult but in the end I voted for Maions. Two reasons really: I feel, Swissbarber, that you over did the shading just a bit too much for me, although I did see the original and the shading did add a good effect. Neither picture had any game glitches, such as half see through soldiers, inconvienent flags and the like, and both had good compesition, so no marking down for that. But the second reason was Maion's just looks like it's straight off a movie poster. I would say the blurring is maybe a quarter of a tad too much, but not really noticable.
All in all, one of the best screenshot competitions of the year; all entree's should be proud.

I should have followed that guys advice and conducted an extensive grassroots campaign. I swear I could have won. Maybe I still can...if there´s one thing I´m good at, it´s grassroots campaigning. I´m just usually to lazy to do it.

I voted for 13- "The Aftermath of Battle" by Centurio Nixalsverdrus but it was a very difficult decision. Number 1,10 and 17 are also one of my favourites.

Why did so few vote for my picture? The first two are overshopped. I dont understand what people like about them. that they look like posterst or something. When I saw them in the submission thread, I thought that I was going to win this competition. I should have saved it for december, becouse then people can only vote for real pictures

A lot of people obviously like photoshopped shots. I don't so didn't vote for either. I also think yours is something we have seen many times, it doesn't really have a focal point, there doesn't seem to be a point to it. Hope you don't take offence, trying to give constructive criticism.

I'm sorry but are you serious? Maybe you should demand us to vote for your picture next time mate. Each and every one of us has different tastes, it just happened that they didn't like yours as much as the one they chose. They didn't vote you because it's their right not to do so. Plus, statements such as the one you just made gives me one more reason not to ever consider voting for any picture of yours anytime again.
Don't take this personal, I just believe you went a tad too far.

It's the floating banners, man. I personally hate 'em so I'll never vote for a pic that has 'em. And since its a simple pref editing and no photoshopping required to get rid of them, I feel no shame.

I got rid of the banners(though I don't remember how:laugh4:) and I like the battles a lot more than I did with the banners. Things look more realistic this way and my pics look better too.

His statement was asking why many people didn't vote for his picture so he can do better next time. Which is requesting constructive criticism. And I'm pretty sure his title was a joke and not to be taken seriously.

I say we should have Foot decide who is the winner. He has arguably the highest standing of any forum-active EB team member. I do however regret that he has recently been missing from the EB forums. I wonder if it was RL, EB II or simply tiredness that is keeping him from posting here.

Because this custom was abandoned. Now the two winners can both receive just the fame.
i remember the last one to adopt this custom was Oleo if i dont mistake, sadly soon after that the custom was abandoned, oh the times! oh:drama2: the morals!

I won't vote in these polls until you have a separate competition for enhanced screenshots. Enhanced ones look better by default, so it isn't fair to have them in the same competition.
Even then i won't vote in the enhanced screenshot one, because it has ceased to be an EB screenshot.

The December Screenshot Competition is going to have only unaltered pictures.
Time to lock this thread, too.
Keep in mind that locking threads is not the only thing that is coming from all the spamming seen here and in the EB2 forums. There are a couple people that are approaching the point of being banned from the EB fora for their nonstop spamming.
