Just curious... how many posts, or how much time must I spent in this forum to become a full member?... Someone laugh at me because I'm a junior member with 80++ posts:wall:

Post count really doesn't matter at the .org, instead the Junior member period is in place for us Mods to get to know you and your posting style. Raelly so we can determine if you're a trouble-maker or a stand-up citizen.

It really depends upon the poster on how long it takes, from your join date you've been here a little over a week, give it a little more time.

Just post around, don't spam (yeah, I know, Monk...:sweatdrop:), treat people nice, and you'll be a full member before you know it. :2thumbsup:

you could try posting in the main areas of the Org., like the Entrance Hall, Don't spend all of your time posting away in the EB section. and the amount of posts doesn't effect how fast you become a member, I had quite a few posts before I became a member.

Yep, like everyone said before, just wait and you should be a member probably within two weeks at most

Heh, I got to be a member after 19-23 posts, which took me a week or even a bit less if I am not mistaken. Then again, my beginning posts were usually long and (hopefully) informative. I guess I either got lucky or there weren't many new arrivals in August of 2008.

EDIT: I wonder if anyone could clarify the requirements for a Senior Member. I noticed that the Backroom is chock full of them. Maybe I should posts more often in that area...

Senior Memberes are not determined by post counts or awards. Instead, the moderators and admins meet up and have secret talks in their lairs/pagodas and put forward names of members who have contributed to the .org in an outstanding fashion. It is an honourific, it has gone to members who still have less than 100 posts, it has not been awarded to members with over ten thousand posts. Around 10 are promoted each year, you can find lists in the backroom normally.

If you still want more of an idea how to post, just look at the example of many fine Senior Members! I for one, always aspire to be like a certain Omanes...his posting style and tone and just general manner is exemplery.

Of course, there's a secret way, but you'll need your shovel and have to report to me at dawn...

Senior member status is more honorific, as the only benefit is bragging rights and a slightly larger PM box.
Only a few members every year are chosen to become senior members.

That's the explanation I was given, anyway...

Both of my advances caught me completely by surprise, I must say....

But using me as a model (generally not advisable, but let's just push on in this instance), I guess that the best answer is to just contribute as and where you can. You will find that sort of participation rewarding in itself, and as you float from forum to forum adding to the various discussions, you will come to be recognised by the mods, who shall in turn move you up a notch.

It is important to note that we mods are human too and sometimes people do slip through through cracks. Or, something could happen like holidays and the mods responsible for JM->Member promotions may take extended periods off.

Please, be patient.

Well said, bamff. Members can (and do) contribute to the Org in all sorts of different ways. Some ways are more obvious than others, of course, but regardless it's the sum total of a person's contribution that's considered by the staff when deciding who has earned the "Senior" honorific.

As my monastical friend here has stated, we're not perfect (even if we like to give off that impression ~D ). While do try our best to avoid such things from happening, people can get overlooked on occasion. If you feel you're one of those people, you can always PM TosaInu or one of us moderators -- we can usually help you out. ~:)

I'm still waiting on your last payment.

At an interest rate of 50 % a week, it is in your best interest to pay as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

I'm just honored to be On this Forum, I didn't realize I made it in. regardless of what rank, I hold. I stumbled on this by checking the Honer Code. Then I could log in. I couldn't do this last year. So this is SO awesome to be here. A huge thank You. I currently play MP, so if you see me in the Lobby, don't be afraid to say hi. (Have been playing on line for over a Year and a half, M2 mostly). again thank You for letting me rest my bloody sword here, after my Battles on line.

Also, some good advice would be don't have your screen name be a childish name and don't refer to yourself as a troll, it might hurt your chances at becoming a respected member among the moderators and admins.

Only downside is that after all these years I still can't vote on pols :wall:

Ah well

The mistake I made when I was a Junior Member was to sort of half spam everywhere. I just wanted to post, and get my post count up, so I would just try and reply to everything, even if I didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. The result was incongruous drivel.

Unfortunately I found TWcenter a bit earlier than the ORG and posted there much more frequently (nearly 900 posts there). But now I have found out that this forum is also very entertaining. I'm currently in the RTW PBM BtSH, and it would be extremely helpful to receive full membership status so I can edit posts and upload files. I guess you can call this a shout-out to all the mods out there.

Thanks

Odd. Looking at your posts, you probably should've been promoted to full membership a long time ago. I'll talk to TosaInu about rectifying that.

The longest run as a Junior Member is slightly over two years. It was resolved a few weeks ago.

It all goes back to what I said on page one. If you feel you've made suffiecient contributions to the community to be moved up a peg to member(and really, such contributions normally consist of being friendly!) PM a moderator like Myself or Martok. Nine times out of ten you fell through the cracks and we'll get the ball rolling ASAP :2thumbsup:

Indeed. On the rare occasions when someone has been a junior member for an overly long time, it's usually just an oversight.

That said, it appears Il_Duce has been promoted to full member. Congratulations! :medievalcheers:
