E-Harmony forced to cater to gays. Another blow for civil rights is made. Crying mothers in the street apologize for years of bad treatment. Millions hang there head in shame (http://religionblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/11/eharmony-caves-to-lawsuit-agre.html)

Let me get this straight<- (lol)

-E-Harmony is a private company
-E-Harmony is one of many private companies
-E-Harmony, like the gay only dating sites was made to cater to a certain group of people.
-E-Harmony must now cater to gays because....well there really isn't a good reason

I weep for my nation of sue-happy pansies. Talk about picking a fight when there isn't one.

So......

For countless centuries, gays have gotten the boot from just about every religious organization...

Now they're kicking back. Justice well served, I'd say. Christians definitely need the gays to kick them, to restore the balance. And don't bitch and whine about it. It's about bloody time someone punched your power-hungry noses. You're no longer in charge of the world, the world no longer cares about you. Deal with it. And stop the whining, it makes you all look pathetic, as well as ever so slightly retarded.

Well in that case it's about time to sue the gay only dating portals who are then most likely also breaking the law, isn't it?

I get adds all the time telling me to date Muslim women whenever I do research on a Muslim faction for my my mod or whetever. Surely this is discrimination - but who cares?

While I'm sure it is the minority of angry gays with an agenda, much as HoreTore shows, it's nonetheless another example of gays demanding special treatment because of so called 'discrimination'.

Why can't we just have 1. Heterosexual dating sites 2. Homosexual dating sites, and 3. All Purpose dating sites???

Now apparently the only fair way is to have 1. Homosexual dating sites, and 2. All Purpose dating sites?

Rhyfelwyr and Husar you miss the important distinction .
E-harmony advertises that it is open to all potential customers with only 3 exceptions .
You must be over 13 , you cannot be currently married , you cannot be a convicted felon .
It doesn't list poofs as one of the exceptions so by discriminating against a customer on those grounds it is a perfect invitation for legal action .

These kinds of things cause more animosity and discrimination than they solve. And you are right christianity is now on a downward tumble after an independent dating service is forced to cater to gays.

There was no fight here at all.

So, perhaps Strike chose the wrong melon to mess with in this case, you clearly know this because you are not an idiot Tribesman.

I believe Striks over-arching theme of argument is that the law is an ass which is used by those persons in society who should not be allowed to live (lawyers) to really piss people off and ruin all attempts for social cohesion for the sake of a quick buck.

Then again it may not have been.

Oh and Horetore, you are A-class comedy these days, the strength of your poison is legend.

You're right.

The suit was alleged eharmony violated his rights by not providing a same-sex dating service. This seems fundamentally stupid, as he's not alleging that eharmony didn't let him use the services they had set up for straights, but that they did not expand their business.

eHarmony, contrary to what tribesy said, is not alleged to have discriminated by not allowing gay people to join. They just did not let him list his account as a 'male seeking male' (or female seeking female, were he a female lesbian) and use their site to search for gay partners, something that their software was not built for.

But they did that to every customer. The complainant was not discriminated against, he only got the same treatment as everybody else.

Horetore- Justice? You're just bigoted against Christians.

I'm with Strike and CR on this one. There's already plenty of gay-only dating services which I'm sure work quite well enough. Now that this has gone through, I'm waiting for someone to sue the NFL for not having any women playing in it. :wall:

But hold on , E-Harmony have agreed to go to mediation and appoint a mediator that both they and the plaintiffs will agree on to settle this case through arbitration in accordance with the laws of the land ....damn I could have sworn that only happened in Britain where they have come under the evil veil of Sharia law:laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:

No, you're misunderstanding.

In your example, by not having disabled access in your store you are denying those people access to the services or goods you provide. It's a question of access, and different from this case. The complaint against eharmony was never about gay people not being able to access the service, but that the services provided didn't extend as much as the gay complainant wanted. It'd be like a person in a wheelchair suing a moped/scooter store for not selling mobile electric wheelchairs.

Well according to the class action they seem to have refused serviceto up to one million customers , other law suits against them have failed ....like the person who was refused because he was still married , but that was because being married was one of the exceptions they listed on their membership requirements .

Straight Christians seeking straight Christians. My, the outrage!
Ah but Louis that is where they screwed up , they said they make no exeptions apart from the 3 I mentioned , they say you don't have to be certain race , religion , ethnicity or follow certain views its a service open to all except the underage , married or criminal/sex offender .They didn't list gender orientation as an exception for eligibility for membership

Ah their lawyers spotted that one , it carries a rider .
You can book a date with little teenagers as long as the jurisdiction both of you are in considers it to be the age of consent . So you might want to hook up in one of those good Christian countries down south or join the FLDS.

I believe the space is put in when the textcode for the smilies
:laugh4: meets up with the line length in the post editor. While the actual smilie gif doesn't take too much space, the code for it is 8 chars long. Repeated smilies with no spaces in between will get a spce inserted, just like a long string of uninterrupted letters, like so:
