Ave, fellow Imperatores.
This is the thread to post your EB 1.2 Savegames.
If you decide to post an savegame tell us what your submods are.
Also tell us what .exe you are using. Because i heard the .exes are not SG compitable with each other.
I will start with my savegame:
This is an Romani savegame in which i conquerored the whole of modern day Italy except Sardinia.
Conquering Italy is the most boring part so i did it for you.
I use ALX.EXE and use the Pack3 submod for ALX.exe
Here it is: http://www.filefactory.com/file/07449e/n/Romani_sav
And now your savegames!
Special request: Does someone has an good, advanced AS savegame

Meh, I usually dislike savegames as I am perfectionist who hates nothing more than FMs with a bunch of negative traits. However, I have been blitzing in my current Romani campaign so much, that none of the factions present me a real challenge. Except for AS and Sauromatae (who have endless stacks of armoured horse archers and heavy cavalry). So I am kind of interested in downloading a savegame that starts off with AI factions relatively developed - assuming that you haven't blitzed as well. My main question is: what year does the savegame begin? Also what's "Pack3" submod? A bugfixer for alex.exe
Unless I am mistaken, the alex-, bi- and rtw- .exe savegames are all interchangeably compatible, so the .exe should not matter so much.
Oh yes, they are interchangeable. If you don't mind your all your FMs being Arkahs and worshippers of Anahita, or Slain by Romans.

That's if you play savegames from previous versions of EB. I have seen numerous people post that games from rtw.exe are compatible with the two expansions. Such as the members of Alexander EB.
That's if you play savegames from previous versions of EB.
In 1.1 Alex, playing a 1.1 RTW or BI save messed up all the traits.
So just to be clear on this, are you claiming that this does not happen with their 1.2 equivalents?

No, what I meant is that traits only get messed up when you switch between version of EB, but not when switching exe-s. I may not be so sure about alex.exe, but I am positive that the bi.exe and rtw.exe are compatible. I still call 1.1 the current version. Haven't downloaded 1.2 yet since I am playing my beloved Romani campaign, but as soon as I finish it, I'll switch to 1.2.

Save from my Romani AAR, it's 240BC you have 7 family members, a load of Client rulers, 5 Ligurians garrisoning forts in the Alps, a small navy and a load of cash. RTW.exe EB 1.2 with permanent fixes, no sub mods.

This is my Makedonian campaign. It is 234 BCE and Greece is conquered, including Krete and up to Serdike in the north and Byzantion in the east.

Yes, you also have Gergovia. See below for an explanation.
Basic information
Exe: BI
Mods: Switched +4 attack for light spear to +4 defensive skill
Year: 234 BCE
Allies: Arche Seleukeia, SPQR, Arverni
Enemies: Aedui, Eleutheroi
Protectorates: -
Base income/season: ~14k
Treasury: 188 106 mnai
(If you don't know, the mod only affected the EDU, which means you can use this save even on an unmodded version of EB. You'd just continue without it as if it never were there in the first place.)
Armies
The Royal army, led by Basileus Demetrios Argeanes, stationed outside Pella.

Army Group Gaul, led by Iordanes Argeades, stationed in Gergovia.

Army Group Thraikia, led by Sotades Gonnios, stationed outside of Byzantion.

Background
I have played the campaign relatively slow, trying not to extend too far too soon, despite the fact that both the Koinon Hellenon and Pyrrhos needs to be dealt with. I opted to take out the mainland KH by attacking Sparte, so I took it quickly before returning south to take care of Pyrrhos. Pyrrhos had meanwhile laid siege and tried an assault on Pella the first turn, but was turned back when most of his elephants were killed, and the rest ran amok. (They all healed after the battle, though.) Pella fell on the second attempt, though.
On the way south, the last KH FM was killed, and thus the Koinon part was defeated. That allowed me to slowly kick the Epeirotes back out of Hellas limit them to Italia (after which I signed a peace treaty with them). I've slowly conquered up until the empire I have now, and have since then just held on and built up, and forming my military as it is.
During this whole time I've been allied with the Arverni and have fed them loads and loads of money ever since I got above 50k mnai. At first I went by giving them half my income and then bumping it to 10k each time I reached 70k or above. When my earnings increased too much, I stopped bothering and just went with half my earnings until I got to 200k, where I've kept it steadily so through these tributes. I have done this because the computer controlled Arverni desperately need the help, always getting steamrolled by Aedui in my games. Despite this assistance, they lost Gergovia and Viennos and were ready to kick the bucket. That is until Army Group Gaul was sent over by ship, hired in like Ariovistus to save them. That is why I have just last turn conquered Gergovia, with the intent of handing it over to the Arverni as soon as it has resupplied.
A last thing worthy of note, the Epeirotes, despite losing Pyrrhos to me, have not yet died off. They still hold Taras and Roma herself, but they are on the very verge of doom.

You're welcome. ~:)
I can't really say how BI differs from ALX since I don't have the latter, but from what I hear it should be better. I don't know why you would experience any less activity from the computer than I do.

Great! Any Aedui/Arveni save ?
Sweboz in 190BC. Difficulty: H/M, huge unit size.
Dead factions: Epeiros, Pahlava, Pontos, Hayasdan.
17 settlements (yes, I'm expanding very slowly), just got reforms, factional MIC5 is in the starting city only (there are MIC3-4 in other homeland provinces).
Fighting Romani in the West (they got Marian reforms in 220-210BC) and KH in the East, you've been warned :eyebrows: Allied with Arverni so far.

I've got a Romani savegame 198 BC.
Look at the faction progress thread for a sreenshot from 202.
In the meantime I've driven Macedon back a little further.
I also have North Africa and Numidia.
So it's not fairly hisorical, but you can easily retreat from Africa.
Every faction is still alive (and kicking except for KH, which is only just alive).
I am using the City Mod so expect very underdeveloped cities. It should be save game compatible.
I've made some minor changes but all should work with vanilla EB1.2.
I've got all the fixes installed.
Do you want me to upload?

Romani campaign, cca 200 B.C., Marian era, H/H - download here (http://uploaded.to/?id=fwis34)
Campaign so far: After taking Italy, I have secured alliance with Massilia and Emporion (Gov IV). The latter led to conflict with Carthage and Lusotani. I have expelled Carthage from Iberia, while left Lusotani to their wester and northern part of the peninsulla. They accepted cease-fire after long and bloody war, but they started to attack my allies Arverni in Aquitania. Therefore I was forced to intervene and restore the status quo ante. After the third such intervention, however, I continued on to total destruction of Lusotana. Meanwhile I have conquered the Dalmatian coast, destroying Epeiros in the course of it, as they incessantly attacked my other allies Getai and KH. At thesame time I have undertook invasion of Cyrene, with the aim to annoy Ptolemies, who have became a real superpower of the East. To this led to a big war with them and Carthage. I have took Paraitonion, but lost it afterwards to Ptolemies while Cyrene was bribed (!) by Carthage. My other army at the same time invaded Carthaginian homeland and conquered Utica and Carthage itself. Now, KH stabbed me in the back and attacked my legion guarding Epeiros, basically anihilating it. Counter-attack force is ready near Taras to punish the offenders.
Overall: very interesting situation right now, with war in Africa going on in Cyrene and Carthage, and another front just opened in the Balkans. Several full stacks of Sweboz are waiting in the Alpes. So far they have been trustfull allies of mine, but will the remain so??? Have fun!
P.S.- Immediately after Marian reforms oneofmy generals became power-hungry and upon becomming faction leader, he proclaimed himself Augustus. However, as other conditions are far from being fulfilled, we are still in the Marian era.
IMPORTANT!!! - I have enabled recruitment Massilian and Syracusan hoplites using this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1907020#1907020) method. You have to EITHER do the same OR immediately disband all those units upon the first load. Otherwise the game might crash in the first battle where those units will take part, as it will now which skin to use for them!!!

Marvin, what mods and exe are you using in your campaigns?
V.T. Marvin
01-24-2009, 16:37
None, just a pure EB 1.2 with fixes applied.
In the Romani campaign, though, I have eased the trigger for Marians (this should not have any effect on the game now so vanilla EB 1.2 should be working nice) and enabled the syracusan and massilian hoplites (if you disband those I currently have, it should work fine with vanilla EB 1.2 as well).
The Baktria campaign should be clean completely.

Definitly going to play those, more saves, anyone?
In case anyone wants to play a save where both the Ptolemaioi and Seleukidae are effectively neutralized (!), I present to you my savegame, Epeiros 218 BC (VH/M, on ALEX, with Lz3's mod pack, easily found in the mod forum, but I believe the save is backwards compatible anyways):
https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c189/metallica_fan32/ebepeiros218.jpg
About 5,000 mnai in the bank and making around 10,000 a turn, as my armies are taking major upkeep. The conquest of Italy is underway from the north, and there are currently three armies around there: a beaten-up fullstack with the faction leader that has just taken Bononia, a largely Thracian 3/4 stack sitting in Patavium, and a veteran fullstack, fresh from retraining after conquering most of Egypt and raiding Carthage, marching towards northern Italy. This is the latter:
https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c189/metallica_fan32/ebepeiros218-1.jpg
The stack in Bononia is very similar to this, just replace Thessalians with elite Epirote cav and elite peltasts with Hypaspists. Current enemies include Rome, Carthage, and Saba, and the lone ally is Baktria. KH and Makedonia are both destroyed, but all other factions are alive. Aside from the aforementioned armies, sizeable garrisons exist in Tylis, Serdike, Byzantion, Mytilene, Augila, and Kyrene; there is also an army besieging Axum. Infrastructure is highly developed in Hellas and Egypt. Be wary of Sauromatae or Pontic attack if you choose to disband the border garrisons with those factions, as they are both fast running out of enemies and could attack at any time. Find the save here: http://www.filefront.com/14002315/Quicksave.sav

Oh I love this one, keep them coming!
Thx for this savegame. One question. What .exe is better BI or ALX. Because the ai of your BI does a lot more then my ALX AI
i have vanilla, BI and ALX.
ALX is by far the best depending on how much you put importance on shield wall.
in ALX the ai is actually half decent. battles arent so brainless anymore because they wont send in 1 unit at a time. they actually send reinforcements from islands with ships. those ships arent just 1 or 2 light rafts but a real navy. ive got a full stack of greek quinqeremes attacking me and im finding it very difficult to invade rhodes and krete right now. the AI retrains as well.
Yeah, I play ALX and the Casse just landed a force in Aquitania. However, the mighty Republic of Roma did not like this...but we are not monsters. I just asked them nicely to hit the big green Gauls to the north, and leave me alone. And they did. How nice of them. :beam:

I think that this should be kept updated as a way to help out new players to EB.
Are there any volunteers out there who would take their vanilla saves of 1.2, zip 'em and upload them for those who are just starting out?
This thread was bumped simply because the savegames therein are not there. If someone could upload some new ones, that would be helpful. Much obliged.
EB 1.2 plus fixes, no sub mods.
Koinon Hellenon, VH/H, Huge units.

Ksifos, your file can't be downloaded
Can anyone tell me how to zip and upload files?
I've an AS campaign, around 220, difficulty easy (it was my first campaign)
You start with Italy, the Balkans, Africa, Eqypt, Anatolia and all of the Seleucid far east. The empire is seriously under-developed and I was relying on add_money to maintain my massive armies.
I also have an Aedui campaign m/m, around 250. You start with all Gaul and Northern Italy. Well-developed economy, small armies but a large stack of Gaesate looting their way through Egypt...
Ksifos, your file can't be downloaded
Reuploaded: http://hotfile.com/dl/115203724/fb7347e/EB-Hellenes.rar.html
You go in Rome Total War folder, open EB folder and ther you will find the Saves folder, where your saves are (.sav files).Right click on the file you want to zip, choose Send To / Compressed and there you have your zipped save. Then go to a site like hotfile or any other file hosting site and upload - its pretty straightforward. Then post the link the site gives you here.
