Compare the dates. Achieved an Alliance with the Pahlava, and thus obtained peace with Armenia (what kind of bugs me, they were right on the road to termination) and Pontos. Which is kind of weird, given that the Pontic State ceased to exist 47 years ago...
Ooops, you can't see the date... fixed it for you. ~:)

That's an RTW thing. You retain your diplomatic standing toward a faction even after they are dead. This is one of the reasons you can't sometimes get an alliance with a faction, their ally was at war when you when they were defeated.

Purple = Galloromans (Romans), green = Phoenicians (Carthage).

Bah, my current (and ongoing) 1.1 Romani empire is larger. I did not expand as far into AS, stopping at Kabalaka-Phraaspa-Ekbatana-Susa-Charax line, but I have conquered all of Africa and Europe, including Eastern (Except Britain, Scandinavia, and modern-day Russia). I was going to conquer the world, but now I'm not so sure... The corruption is simply gargantuan. I cannot stand the sight of all of those cities making negative income. Grrrh!
Also, I did not know that one could obtain peace with a faction by allying with their ally. I only thought you could break alliances if you invade a faction that is allied to you ally. :dizzy2:

No. But to the west lie two enemies which can't remain without punishment...

You can load it but I'll bet your traits are all messed up.
In my Sweboz campaign I saw KH allied :knuddel: with Pontos one turn after Pontos had been destroyed :skull:

This also reminds me that if a Seleucid player attacks in the first turn their Pahalavan "allies" there is a chance to see the Bactrians break their alliance with them instead of AS.
Nice thing if you want to avoid the two factions to ally against you - until the moment when the crappy AI will start to recite "attack the player, attack the player, attack the player! even if he's your faithful and powerful ally" in its own mind.
