General and Ram

How can I make my general (KH) make abandon the ram, so another infantery-unit can take it? It seems not to be possible for generals, because there's another button (the one with the trumpet, u know... sound the rally or however it is named in english) where the abandon-ram button should be

What about pressing the 'W' button which makes the unit withdraw? Not 100% about this, but you can give it a try.
