Wait times between posts/thread creation

Hello all,

I'm sure this has been mentioned many times before by new members such as myself, but is there are chance that wait times could either be abolished altogether or at least decreased?

I understand how wait times to post would cut down on spamming, adbots, spambots, and the like, but let's face it. It's annoying.

I took this screenshot while waiting 193 seconds. Incidentally, it took less time to type all this out than actually wait for the time to expire to post. :dizzy2:

The idea (IMO of course) is to limit then number of new threads a single user can create, there is still a limit on that for normal members. Back at the end of 2006, it was 300 seconds between each post and something like 2700 between each thread. I thought out each post carefully and it taught me not to make posts i didnt need to, as i would be forced to wait for the time to pass.

I have stood by this before, and i do again now. The times do not need to be decreased. Why do you need to start so many threads in such little time?

Don't worry. Once you become a normal member, the wait time is minimal. You'll only have to deal with it as a Junior Member

Back when i joined im not sure what they were or if they were in place, i would say that seems a little too long, how long are people stuck with that limit, if its only like a week than that seems reasonable i guess, i would possibly say a little lower though

What do i now though, i have never moderated a big forum and im not sure what kind of mischief some people might be able to create with lower limits...
