And 2.00 GHz.
I see the EB Campaign Map! I see my 'Oplitai charging into the Gallic host!
But they are doing so at 0.1 frames per second!
Is it possible in any way to see the dream realised - or will I return to the Medieval: Total War realm forever?
(MTW:VI - XL mod is absolutely marvellous, to note!)
I hope my question is clear enough - the game runs perfectly, but the framerate is paranormally dead.
How can the obstacle be overcome without spending money?

Lowering any and all graphics settings might help. In particular turn off any and all anti-aliasing.

Well trying to play games on a Intel integrated was your first mistake. Lower the settings, 845's should be able to play the game at low settings. I know that its immediate successors the X3000 series can play it at near full detail if units aren't maxed out.

How much RAM do you have? I have just found out that my computer only has a 1.8 GHz processor, not 2.4 and my RAM is only 960, and yet my EB runs very smoothly, even on the highest settings.

from my experiance with motherboarsd with that graphic controller, you wont have any PCI-e OR even AGP slot, i recommend u get ANY PCI cards (such as nvidia 6200pci, visiontek x1300 x1550s) which you can actaully see some eyecandy on the game without that much lag...
put everything on low, no AA and medium unit sizes

:-\ PCI Video Cards suck unless lots of things have changed since 2006.

I have fixed the lag in battles by lowering everything, but the lag on the campaign map is unbearable still.
I once had an ATi Radeon 9200 Atlantis with 512RAM and 2.8GHz, which ran everything except buildings and vegetation at the highest levels with AA, but was subject to memory loss and small lag on the campaign.
There was a mod here I used in those times to reduce the lag and cut the loading times or turn times - does anyone use this still - would it work in this circumstance?
Thank you for the replies, I thought I would simply be told it is all futility!
(I cannot afford to spend on anything unfortunately.. I will not be playing games for much longer!)

Glenn, I know you are a long time member on the forums, so stating the obvious you have disabled follow AI characters on the Campaign Map!

It is either the script or the water that is causing the lag. Go find a disable reflective water mod.

I have the same graphics controller, and the slight lag isn't unbearable as long as all the video settings a turned down.

Interesting, Brittunculi!
I am glad not to be to only one!
I believe also that the water is most disruptive, and I will look for this mod therefore. Thank you!
Thank you for the answer Chris - I quit before ending my first turn due to lag - but I do play with that option turned off.
And you are an older member than I!

Which water are we talking about?
The water on the campaign map is purely aesthetical, it makes no difference in performance.

IIRC, the water uses shader effects. Integrated Graphics have poop shader/emulation and most of it is offloaded to the CPU.
