1700-1800, last I heard, although parts of the Americas campaign will apparently take place in the late 1600's.

Just to be nitpicky I think the game technically lasts from 1700 to 1799. :P
The Road To Independance campaign will have three chapters. The first will start around 1600 and feature Britain vs. the Native tribes. The second chapter will be around 1700 and feature Britain vs. The Native tribes and France. The last chapter will focus on America gaining independance from Britain and will be around 1775.

:clown:Picking those nits just a little more, it was the founding of Jamestown in 1607 that starts off the first chapter.
I think the second chapter is 1754...the last of the French and Indian Wars (7 Years War) It lasted 9 years in North America.
Chapter 3 starts in 1775 with either Concord or Bunker Hill…they seem to all be playing Bunker Hill but I don’t know that, that is the very beginning.

 Pick all the nits you care to, guys.
Anyways, to the OP: please notice that the game conviently ends just before Napoleon enters the building (don't nitpick this!). It's a likely possibility we'll be seeing that greasy-haired Corsican in a Napoleonic expansion or something extending even further. Who knows?

So wait hang on, if its only 1700-1799, what happens to the Napoleonic Wars?
I was anticipating 1700-1820, as explained/confirmed in the ETW summary thread.

The summary thread is a wee bit out of date at the moment. 1700-1820 was indeed the original intention it seems, but a look at one of the recent videos clearly shows that the game ends in 1799.
As for the Napoleonic wars? Kick them off early without Napoleon! Who needs him anyway (except France.) If the game behaves the way it should then towards the end Europe should heat up nicely anyway.

Not to pick too many nits, but didn't the Egyptian Expedition take place in 1798?

I'm assuming they are saving the napoleonic era for an expansion pack. Why give the milk away for free?

Very true. Since the Napoleonic wars are what we all want they are the best way to bait us into buying an expansion pack.
If Napoleon doesn't feature in an expansion then the second favourite would probably be the American Civil War.

I'm sure the expansion will include a bit more than 20 years of French domination.
