Help!

Hi everyone

I really want to start using some of the mods that i've seen people using in videos, but I don't know how to do it. I've managed to download mods before like the Rome: total realism mod, but for some reason it hasn't worked, even though I installed a fresh copy of the game. If anyone could give me a detailed walkthrough on how to do it, It would be brilliant. I'm a bit lacking on the understanding of computer language though, so if someone could keep it easy to read, that would be great.

Also, which is the best major mod for Rome: TW?

As to your second questin the answer is clear: the best mod for RTW is Europa Barbarorum!!!:yes:

To install it you need to download both EB 1.1 and EB 1.2.

1.-Read the EB 1.2 released (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=109876) thread and follow the instructions.

2.-Described briefly do the following steps: Make a clean copy of RTW 1.5 (or RTW 1.6 if you have the Golden Edition with BI included). Make sure that it is working properly and that it shows the correct version number (i.e. either 1.5 or 1.6) on the bottom of "Options" page.

3.-Now copy the whole RTW folder and paste it somewhere else (not in the Program files folder!) and rename it to Europa Barbarorum.

4.-Install EB 1.1 into that folder.

5.-Install EB 1.2 over it.

6.-Have fun!

Just make sure you install the mod into the same folder as RTW itself.
That was most likely the mistake on your previous attempt.

This may be a stupid question, but where do I find the R: TW folder that you described in stage 3?

Also, what do I do once i've downloaded the patch?

That's where you installed RTW...

Standard is C:\program files\activision\rome-total war or "the creative assembly" instead of "activision" (if you have RTW gold edition)

If you have Vista it is recommended to install RTW outside of Program Files (C:\Games for example)

The patch in installed in the same folder as RTW + EB 1.1.

Whats the EB Trivial Script and where should I install it?

It hasn't worked for some reason?

I tried following the EB install guide, but it is for the 1.0 version and im downloading the 1.1. The pictures and the steps used in the guide are different to how I have to install it.

Any ideas?

I got it working up to the loading screen before the intro movie, but it just stays on that screen, it doesn't progress any further?

Just wait. Sometimes it takes up to ten minutes before you can see the main menu.
