A mafia set in the world of the 1926 criminal autobiography of Jack Black.
_________________________
The war between the states is now decades past. The inevitable end of the
century shall soon ride upon it's mechanical stallion, bringing uponus the
1900s. In the meantime highwaymen roam the western frontier of these United
States and Canada. Some of them running from their past or themselves. Some
of them run from the encroaching world. Some of them seeking fortunes they
could never dream of obtaining on their family's barren farm.
You are a member of the Johnsons, one of these Yeggmen. No safe is uncrack-
able, no horse untheavable, no faro table honest. Someone amongst you is a
Town Whittler, a Bull: a Lawman, whose goal is to bring you to justice. The
goal of you and your fellow Johnsons is to evade their grasp, and remain free
for another day and another scheme.
------$$$--$$$--$$$--$$$-------
If you enjoy cowboys, disgruntled veterans, women of the evening, crazy drunks, and general mischief, this is a mafia for you.
Role playing encouraged, as everyone will have a role to play. Knowing the book is both helpful and detrimental.

Days will be 48 hours, and nights will be 24.
Orders can be sent in early if desired.
No quoting the host's PMs.
Information gained through abilities should be paraphrased.
This is a Mafia designed for RP, if you can't bluff it, how ever are you going to win You Can't Win.
Besides, why would you be letting a bunch of people all up in your business?
Standard voting procedure for listing and free range, with the addition of speeding up the round.
vote: Rhubarb Pie
unvote: Rhubarb Pie
vote: Muligan Stew.
You may also Vote: Abstain and Vote: No Lynch. If dead people are distracting you, you can even vote them again. Heck, if you want to vote for a squirrel, I'll even add that to the tally. Maybe you'll end up with something nice in your mulligan stew.
In addition, if when placing your vote, you know for sure it will not change, you can add the term SOLID. In the event everyone is content with their choices, this will let me know that I can end the day early. If you have already voted for someone, but would like to make it concrete: post previous vote:SOLID
Vote: Old Boot SOLID
or later:

Well, I have something very special planned. There will be a shootout!!!! You will each be given a number. Reveal this to noone. To determine the winner of the shootout I will pull that many cards from a deck of 54 (or maybe 53 :saint:, 54 is a standard deck and two Jokers). Aces High, Jokers wild. Be careful, some people will of course be playing dirty.
Dead Peoples
Feel free to post cordially, but please, no dead detectives. You will have been neutralized, please remain neutral... There may even be roles that affect you. Besides, everyone deserves the right to win You Can't Win, even your enemy.

Who said you can't win.
Thank y'all for joining!
Should be lots of fun.
And don't forget what "Canada Bill" Jones said when a friend apporached him and remarked, "Bill, don't you know this game is crooked?" as Bill proceeded to lose his bank roll on a Faro table.
"Yes, but it's the only game in town."
Anyway, you'll all have specific characters with their own personalities, but if you'd care for a bit of inspiration check out this here site:

My goodness, seven already.
There's still room for a few more, but it looks like we'll be moseying on into the sunset at around high-noon-thirtyish on either Wednesday or possibly Thursday.
Glad to see some of you are already drunk, feeling down on your luck, and/or brought your own hat.
Now all's you'll be needing to do is pinch yourselves some ponies, mark your cards, paint a couple of lead bars gold, and we'll be ready to ride.
I don't know the book...
But I always wanted to sit around a camp fire eating beans, farting and telling stories of women.

What the heck.
This looks interesting enough. Keep in mind I am usually absent for a 2 day stretch at a time, but I sometimes adjust my routine to meet my mafia commitments. I'll vote early and change my vote later if I see fit, and send in night orders (if any) ahead of time. So consider me a regular, if not always present, player.
If I have trouble meeting all my commitments, I recommend we still have an alternate who steps in for me, and I'll step back and be a reserve player.
That should give you your necessary amount of players, and if someone else really really wants in I may step aside for them. Hows that sound?

'Then' is correct.
'Than' is used in the sense of "My fart was louder than Sigurd's" - it is a comparative.

Departure time is still on schedule.
Just a note:
"Heehaw," is the sound a mule makes, and was also a TV show for awhile. "Yeehaw," I believe may have been the sound you were looking for.
Although, this game shall be based on actual people who were written about in the autobiography of the same title. Don't expect movie stereotypes for the characters. Imagine more your favorite western villain merged with a hobo, and you'll have a good idea where these cats are coming from.
We'll be starting off in the "jungles" around Pocatello, Utah. Then a much different place than it is today.
Anyway, see you all in a few hours. And I hope you'll all enjoy this little romp.

Alright, I'll be sending out Roles within the hour.
Some may be abbreviated, and will receive addendum on their character later.
I'm going to have to run out of town and see my new nephew, Edward.
Another note: The first night period will last a full 48 hour cycle (equal to the day cycle). This should allow some people to get used to their roles.

Opening (abbreviated):
Day Time: The Jungles around Pocatello, Utah.
Here it is, a grand Convention of the Johnsons! So named, because their numbers are so numerous.
Plenty of Dr. Hall (alcohol) springing about, and of course the muligans. there is a river nearby.
All is not well, as word has come back that a couple of you have somehow disappeared last night, and are in the county jail. How did that happen...
Hmmm.
Begin Day one.
Good luck.
:holmes: Oh Dear, how can one suggest a target for criminal activity when ones mind has limited resources?

Let me see if I can finish everything up nicely all quick like, and we can really get this hoe down under way.
Edit:
All full Role PMS are out. I understand some of you are going to be confused by some of the lingo, or have questions regarding your characters.
If you want more background, let me know, and I'll try and fish you out a good passage from the book.
A couple things regarding lexicon, some of which is in the opening or in some of my posts:
Yeggman- usually Safe cracker, or highway man.
Dr. Hall- alcohol
Convention- get together of a bunch criminals and Dr. Hall
Jungle- wooded rural area
Town Whittler- Town Sheriff or Constable... named so because they an usually be found sitting outside the jail whittling
Bull- cop
Gold-brick- A bar of brass sold off as gold
I'll try and give yous guys a full lexicon as we go through it all.
I'll give y'all the opening very shortly.

Day one...
https://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo312/mexico1910/vs-jackblack06.jpg
The roads are a lonely place for a lonely profession, and are filled with a dust that can dry more than a man’s throat. Sometimes even a lone wolf wants to find his pack. For you, my dear ladies and gentlemen of the roads, there is one sure way to find those companions who would understand your mind: A convention.
It just so happens one St. Louis Frank recently was released Salt Lake City Prison. As he was a dear friend of you alls, it is only natural that you would celebrate his return to freedom. And so, in the town of Pocatello, Utah, south of Salt Lake, a convention is brewing in the Jungles.
Bums, thieves, beggars, and yeggs appeared as if they had magic carpets. In no time the thing assumed the proportions of a convention. Everyone had money.
And so the party grew and became its own beast. Everyone was joyous and in good spirits.
Of course, all good things must come to an end. It seems that in the midst of he celebration, the very reason for it, St. Louis Frank, somehow has been put into the Pocatello Jail. But how did those coppers know where everybody is? There hasn’t been a raid. Are they just picking you off as you go into town for more Dr. Hall?
Or perhaps some of your number are playing for the side of the law…
Note: Please remember, in this game, you are the criminal activity.
Voting may begin. Day ends in around 48 hours.
Vote: El Diablo
Your name sounds too criminal...I reckon your using it as a cover for somethin more law abiden...

On the whole, I agree that it's probably likely that he's someone we can trust, especially in this par-ticular game where everyone seems to have a role. So I'll consider him to be square as well. Unfortunately, that means he's probably going to be the first to go. Perhaps if we have someone to keep watch over him, they could safeguard his life, unless he requests that no one do so.
Maybe I'm thinkin' too much for the first round, so it'd be nice if one of you gentlemen would kindly buy me a drink. Too much thinkin' means not enough drinkin'!

The falsetto returns.
"That's all right. I can respect an honest man. But I loves me a wild man. And I see myself a nice, powerful, wild man who can show a girl a good time!"
skips over to Andres and sits on his lap
"Be sure to save some of that bourbon for me, darlin!"
snatches the bourbon and begins to chug it. Andres farts again
"Oooh! You're a dirty, foul man for breaking wind in front of me! I like dirty, foul men..."
She open-mouth kisses Andres, smearing the beans all over each other. Just then, her skirt begins to flap mightily, as she's nearly lifted up off of Andres' lap from a powerful and unladylike burst of flatulence.

You all seem to be taking to your roles like hogs to slop.
If you're still not sure how to run your role, feel free to PM me. I'll send you some more background and dialogue from the book, and try and help you feel your way through the dark halls of their psyche.
If you get stuck, my advice, though, is go with it. It's your character, so play it how you want.
We're still waiting on a few pilgrims to mosey on over, and I'll be at working at 1 AM central time, so this first round will be a bit longer than initially stated. I also want to try and get the write up back to mid-dayish.
Once we get through this initial round, expect the 48/24 round to be pretty concrete.

End of Day 1
The day had neared it’s end. Throughout it, members of the “Johnson Family” had arrived. An old hotel outside of town, once nearly always empty and run down, was functioning as their meeting point. The old building had been returned, temporarily, to life. There was plenty of booze, and even a few loose women were flaunting their goods.
One of these criminal types had begun to feel a strange itchy sensation in his lower region.
The disappearance of St. Louis Frank, and the subsequent discovery that he had landed in jail had many in the group concerned. Many in the family had taken to voting in a vigilante fashion, and things weren’t going well for one of the late comers.

“Where you been Smiler?”
“Well, I just got in off the local line,” replied the young thief who always seemed up beat, with a big smile on his face.
“Seems to me I thought I saw you wanderin’ around town these last few days.”
“No, you got me mistaken with someone else. I really just got off the line from Stew Junction. First place I been to, since I lef the yard.”
“Hunh. I says yous a lia’. And I bet your lyin’ because you ain’t playing us straight.”
“I’m playin’ ya’ straight.! I’m playin’ ya’ straight! I came in here looking for you know who, so’s that I can pawn off these gold watches I pinched from a jewelry store.”
“I says you’re a lyin’ dog! And I don’t wanna hear no more of your barking.”
A couple cannons come out from beneath a jacket, and thunder rolls low to the ground.
Smiler grabs his chest, and falls forward, still smiling.

I'll try to do this in-character.
Here's some of the gossip I was spreadin', but it's something you might think to yourselves anyway if you just took a look!
You may also Vote: Abstain and Vote: No Lynch. If dead people are distracting you, you can even vote them again. Heck, if you want to vote for a squirrel, I'll even add that to the tally. Maybe you'll end up with something nice in your mulligan stew.
Feel free to post cordially, but please, no dead detectives. You will have been neutralized, please remain neutral... There may even be roles that affect you. Besides, everyone deserves the right to win You Can't Win, even your enemy.
What I'm saying is that Providence has shown me the path, and that the devil among us can harm us from beyond the grave. I could be wrong about my revelation, but it makes no sense that our Lord would show us something if he didn't intend us to have a look. And I heard gossip in private that seemed to confirm my suspicions, from one of us here mortals.
You may also want to know that I don't pledge allegiance to either flag, either the "rebel" or the "union", so to speak. And by telling you what the Lord has revealed to me, I am a marked woman. I have no ability to defend myself in a shootout because I'm bad with guns, and I can only choose a gentleman champion to take my place, but some of you won't defend a lady and I'll end up dead, just like in the book.
The sheriff cannot stop my... business activities... without revealing himself to y'all. As such, I can reveal this information to you. Because I follow no flag, I am just trying to survive, that's all I ask of you, and you can even send your men to check my story.
All I ask is that you let me live in peace.
There is another side to my story... If you don't let me live in peace, I will be forced to choose to align myself with the law man, just to survive. As I said you can confirm all this independently.
That's my story, and I know it sounds strange. But if I am to live to see the end of these days, I am more or less forced to reveal the whole truth. I may be wrong about the top part, people killing after dying and such, but I know myself and I know that that is the gospel truth.
Will you let me continue living and loving like a lady like me should, or will you condemn me to the jail force me to turn snitch? The choice is out of my hands. At present, I trust you with my life more than I trust these law men.

End of Night One:
The first night of the convention seemed the longest, and the moon shown full as a fresh biscuit in the night sky. The liquor and song poured out across all of Pocatello, and the surrounding jungle. Perhaps it was the liquor, or the possible venereal disease, but one of the loosest women of the group, now known to many, spouted a premonition of a zombie invasion, then wandered off into one of the local bars on the edge of town, where she got drunk and pounced on men. Meanwhile, several of those back at camp began feeling a strange itchy sensation in their nether regions.
After the early evening had passed, Spokane, one of the youngest and fresh faced of the convention, headed back to the the hotel where his wife waited. Neither he, nor the eyes that scoured those who wandered in and out of town made note of each other. Perhaps his innocent face had saved him this time.

Sorry gang, I thought I had mentioned somewhere that since several people were having trouble getting used to their roles, or had trouble understanding some of the language, I would let the first night last as long as the day period. I couldn't find that when I went back, so I must have only dreamt that I posted it. I did reference it at the end of the last write up:

Who would you have my vote for? And why should I? I already told you, I don't need to have the lawman shootin' me to death. And if I don't start voting for the yeggmen, I'm no threat to you either. My best move is to remain neutral, now that I've declared my neutrality.
Whichever side wastes their time on me allows the other to gain a one-turn advantage, and my death is unnecessary in both your victory conditions, so far as I am aware. As such, unless you can convince me that I would be somehow safe in choosing one side over the other, I cannot.
I lose, point blank, if I am dead. I know that saying so will lead to my lynch or an investigation, but it's all I can do... it's a 50/50 shot that I get investigated, proven truthful, and survive till the end. I don't have many options in my situation. I am likely dead or arrested in any other scenario anyway.
Just leave the poor tranny alone, wouldja hon? I already think you're a yeggman from the writeups and your claimed role. I weren't be voting you anytime soon, but I sees no one else who be deservin' it.
I've nothing to hide, but I've no one that I need to kill to get though this rough patch, darlin.

End Day Two
The day began slowly, with the final members of the jamboree showing up in the late hours of the night. Jack Black asked around about one of his fellow conventioneers. Finally Rebel George stood up, I am here. He was an elderly bandit, perfecter of the Gold Brick scam. Many had studied his thoughts on swindles, one of his famous lessons was thus: "The way to sell a brass brick is to bunko yourself first into the belief that your brick is solid gold- the rest is easy. The most successful bunko man is the one who bunkoes himself before he goes after a sucker." Some though he had retired and was living quietly after years of the road, but here stood the living legend himself.
Jack revealed his thoughts, "What are you doing here old timer? Maybe I heard somewhere that you ain't playing straight... or are playing straight... I'm not sure how to put it."
"What are you saying, little man. Don't you know who I am? Didn't I help you make it through your first stint in prison?"
"True enough, but still... maybe there are words in the air that have found my ears."
"Perhaps it's all that :daisy: hop, young fellow."
By now most people in the convention were eying up one, the other, or both of them.
Pocket cannons came out.
https://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo312/mexico1910/shootout.jpg
They both flashed, bright and loud in the room, and a hold was ripped in each others jacket.
They both looked down at themselves, shocked and mildly horrified.
Is this what it felt like to die?
.
Rebel George began laughing as though it were all a joke, and opened his jacket. Several pieces of paper fell out, with holes through them. Money. Blood soaked money.
Jack Black looked up at George, and still a bit startled, reached into his jacket. He pulled a book from his pocket, How to Win at Black Jack, a bullet had pierced the full thickness of the pages, and was just poking out the back.
Rebel George dropped dead.

Aries investigating dead people is not without precedent. I investigated Masy after his lyncg way back ago in Mafia IV although that was like my 2nd or 3rd Mafia and Kommodus had just made an incredible (and correct) claim that Masy was Mafia. Given those unique circumstances though, it still is odd but as he says, it's his role...

End Night Two
https://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo312/mexico1910/nightcitylg.jpg
After the death of Rebel George, things continued on as before. The police, if they were around, hadn't seemed to "step in" on the party yet. Perhaps they hadn't noticed the goings on, being too busy planning out their nice pensions.
Soldier Johnnie had gotten drunk on the back of a wagon, a large riffle laying by his side. He passed out, and when he awoke, he was well into town. He staggered off the wagon, and looking down, found an old shinny golden piece of Spanish bullion. "Truly," he thought, "I am just one lucky SOB!" He used the piece to get himself a room at one of the local hotels, where he cleaned up and enjoyed a bit more of Dr. Hall's company.
Irish Annie spent another night in a bar on the edge of town, living out her life as she chose to live it.
Tex, a long and tall man, who had come up from a south easterly direction, was somewhere between the camp and the town, his eyes were skimming the line when a bush began to speak.
"Hey, psst. Man with the stash. Over here."
Tex looked over, and pulled out his pistol, but it was too late. The lead entered his left side, piercing his lung and heart. His last breaths were gasps. His last thoughts were that he would no longer have to worry about all those gambling debts. His bones were not found for another 80 years, when some construction workers, laying a foundation for a house, uncovered them.
In the morning, screams could be heard from the room in the old hotel where Rebel George had slept. Several of the gang ran upstairs to find Jack Black, dead as dead could be. His neck showed signs of strangulation, and his tongue hung comically useless from his mouth. In one hand he held Rebel George's journal, and on the middle finger of his other hand sat a shinny new brass ring. Across his forehead someone, or something, had branded the phrase "777 8 Beef." Whatever that meant.
Apparently, Jack Black had been Beefed.
Irish Annie, when she finally saw the scene, began screaming about her zombie apocalypse predictions. Had the dead come back to haunt Black, or had he been the one haunting the dead?

I don't follow your logic, hon.
I know it's not concrete proof, but I was absent in every single mafia game that I've been in recently, and in all of them, I would have been physically unable to do night actions. I already said it isn't proof. I was just pointing out that it would be difficult. And by the way, in Andres game it would be illegal for me to send in a nightkill ahead of time. I also have to protest; when I am a mafia I never get myself killed this quickly, nor am so cavalier about my life. However, I also refuse to defend myself further, as whenever I post lately I am accused of "preventing the town from having a discussion".
I would analyze your reasons for voting for me further, but if you're town or mafia it doesn't matter to me. I had very little chance of surviving the game anyway, and it puzzles me what the point of merely surviving a game as a neutral would mean. I would have to share the victory with someone, after contributing nothing to their victory or being their ally.
I revealed everything already, and I have no motivation for defending myself or accusing anyone. I would point out that killing me allows the lawman an extra turn to bring you down, but I frankly don't give a darn.

I had an amusing theory just now, that there was no mafia, and the neutral player wins without killing anyone, but is unlikely to do so, hence the "You Can't Win" moniker.
But it doesn't hold up, as there have been night kills. And I don't want to squelch the discussion by adding to it.

I am simply the moderator, and not a participant. You tell me what you want to do, and I figure out what happens, then relay those figurings back to you all. Sometimes, you're going to eat the bear, and sometimes the bear is going to eat you.
I've tried to make this somewhat challenging, with the addition of including personalities for you all to play out. Personalities of troubled people in a rough lifestyle.
The title is derived from the book itself. It has far more to do with the philosophy of this world you are playing in, then with the game conditions.
You have a couple more hours to figure it out. It looks like we have a five way tie, including abstain.

He was called Montana Blacky because of his long black hair and beard. Out of his mouth spilled random phrases and drunken ramblings, but he was known as the best mulligan stew maker in all the west. On his way to the convention he had gotten lost somewhere in both the woods and his own thoughts. Now he was starting to talk, but people weren't sure they trusted his random words.
"What'd you say, feller?"
"What has he don't you done?'
"That's some gibberish your spouting' there, and I don't like it."
"When cows speak the truth, the grass won't listen," Blacky said as he sipped on his bottle of Dr. Hall, "It's too busy getting chewed into a nice cud."
People usually didn't pay that much mind to what he said, as his food was the best they could find. However, the events of late had everyone a bit on edge, and his ruminations seemed to rattle some of those around him.
"The stool pigeon is the coming race. The roads are made of stinky cheese," he grabbed Soldier Johnnie, who was eyeing Irish Annie with suspicion, and started shouting, with eyes of blazing madness, "A loose woman who is neither moral nor whore is a loose woman. A loose woman is a loose woman. A loose woman. Stinky cheese! :daisy:, stinky women and loose cheese!"
Several shots rang out, and Montana Blacky dropped dead.

Spokane was traveling back to his wife at the hotel in town, as he had been doing each evening since the convention started. But this time, while going back into town, he came across a broken down wagon. In the driver's bench a person was laying, seemingly drunk or unconscious. It seemed to be one of the people from the convention. He looked around, and seeing no one, began digging through the person's pocket.
Suddenly a hand grabbed his wrist, the once closed eyes lit up, and a voice boomed out, "Gotcha, ya' no good louse!" As Spokane struggled to break away from his now captor, a shot rang out, and the young yegg dropped dead.
Meanwhile, on the edge of town, a fire broke out in the back room of Salt Chuck Mary's, where Irish Annie had spent the last few nights getting drunk. Many of the patrons of the establishment fled the scene, but there was no sign of Mary herself. When some of her gentlemen customers ran back in to try and save anyone left, they found her body and dragged her out in front of the crowd. Mary had been strangled to death. On the middle finger of one hand sat a shiny brass ring, and across her forehead was tattooed, "777 8 Beef." She too had apparently been Beefed. Many from the convention could be found in the crowd.
Gold Tooth was wandering back to the jungle regions around town, smiling at himself for his earning as well as doings of the day. His mouth opened into a broad smile, showing his shiny gold teeth, as he began to laugh to himself a bit. How many of the miners wives and local prostitutes had fallen for his smile and swindle. In his pockets, coin jingled with his wares, laughing along with him, "Boy, I sure am a good bum! A'int no one gonna stop me now!"
He walked into moonlight spotlight in the woods, and a little voice called out, "Psst, hey you with the teeth. You're a liar. You were a good bum, now you're a dead bum." Gold Tooth heard the shots as he felt the lead tear into his body. He fell forward, the contents of his pockets falling out, and glinting shiny and falsely desirable in the moonlight. Blood ran down his fingers, and dripped upon them. His last thoughts, while burnt into his own mind eternally, were never known to anyone else, save maybe one man. Much like the location of his body.

No, indeed, I did not protect CountArach except on the first night. I then killed boudica and Reenk Roink, and intended to kill you this night. So your assertion is correct, I may only protect or kill, not both.
Both of my kills were motivated by my own suspicions, gut feelings, nothing more. Last night, It was either you or Reenk Roink, and a coin flip decided it.

Yes, guys: I want to say it right here, right now:
I consider not being here at all to be a coward's tactic. I would not do that just for the sake of winning a game.
Whenever I am mafia, I talk and talk. If I win using such a tactic, dear god... I get bragging rights, don't I? I will not blank out on my favorite website just to win the game the WOG-bait way.
Sorry I haven't been more active, but whenever I am here, I am active, and it is in my best interests not to pick a side in this game, as I mentioned a few dozen times.
I mentioned I might be dropping out of mafia games in the future, due to the fact that me not being here and there still being murders eliminates me as a potential suspect in some games. This is not true in games where I can send in orders ahead of time, and if my partner(s) can kill in my place.
I admit, if I survive this game at all, I will be impressed by your faith in me after my past deviousness, and thank everyone for letting me live. Of course, having said that, I'm as good as dead, so... it's been nice knowing all of you!

Obviously it is not in his best interests to kill me. It may be in town's best interest at one point, so that town can play the odds, 1/3 instead of 1/4.

I'm starting to buy into YLC's story, Andres isn't scummy but YLC seems convincing. Right now I can think of a few possibilities the end will end... But anyway for now I will vote: Andres

Knowing you has convinced me that you would not use such tactics for victory.
APTG's neutrality declaration is a big blow to town, Tiberus is WOG bait, without APTG and Tiberus its only gonna be just me, Andres and YLC, which means this could be the last voting round.

I already voted solid, so if I had any reason to change my mind and save my life, that window of opportunity has passed.
I have a theory as to who it is as well.

Oh come on now. If he's CA's bodyguard then why didn't he protect him the last few nights?
What a great bodyguard he is, letting his protégé die last night.
And on top of that the vigilante claim, the ideal cover for a mafioso.

To be honest I am relatively undecided at the moment. I had a nice plan as well; We could lynch Tiberus this round, making YLC the vig killer kill you (Andres) next night, and if the game still doesn't end then we'll lynch YLC in the final round. But now with APTG suddenly revealing his rouge aligance, the plan has all but evaporated into thin air.
Sometimes you have to go with gut feelings, if we lynched you and you turned out to be townie then I'm sorry, but now is the time to be decisive.
YLC also didn't have to reveal his vig/protector status if he didn't want to, telling people that he's actually a vigillante would make him seem suspcious and he had better alternatives to go with if he was mafia, I am beginning to think what YLC is saying is the truth.

I've never said you cannot change your vote if it is SOLID, only that you should vote that way if you're sure it won't change later.
It's a flag for me, not a carving in stone for you.
EDIT:
In addition, if when placing your vote, you know for sure it will not change, you can add the term SOLID. In the event everyone is content with their choices, this will let me know that I can end the day early. If you have already voted for someone, but would like to make it concrete: post previous vote:SOLID
I do see I used the term "concrete" in there. This was meant as the adjective form, not the noun. Sorry.
I.e. a concrete vote, as in real and tangible, as opposed to an abstract idea of how you're leaning.

Vigilante is exactly what you'd want to claim as a mafioso. It makes you immune for investigation results --> "yes, I'm guilty because I killed, I'm a vigilante!"
Also, the bodyguard part doesn't add up; CA got killed last night. Protector+vigilante makes no sense at all.
No, he didn't have to reveal; but if he avoid the lynch this round, he'll be pretty much sure about winning this game.
The timing for his "reveal" is perfect to obtain victory.

Very well. I choose to change my vote.
Unvote: Abstain
Vote: YLC
His reasoning given is that he's a vigilante. That's fine... but he's a confirmed killer.
QJC: Please look back at my posts. i revealed a long time ago I was neutral. From this error, I have to assume you aren't paying attention... which tells me you aren't that concerned about your life. It has to be YLC at this point. Obviously if the mafioso dies, I survive the game. So I have reasons for not being so neutral now.

It seems that's the case :shame:
However its this post that really concerned me
I am neutral, so keep that in mind. The amount of townies left does not include me, and the lawman wins if there is one townie and one neutral left.

I understand your concerns, QJC. I hate to use my record as evidence, but everyone else seems to, and so too shall I:
In every game, as mafia, as host, as townie, as neutral, I've done everything I can to help town win. It's frightening. Why do I do this?
So you'll put up with me. So you'll listen to me. So you might actually consider what I have to say. And my record is consistent. I am trying to help us win, right now. I've chosen my side, and I always side with town.
Quintus.JC
01-20-2009, 19:12
I do trust that you have the town in your better interest, besides YLC hasn't been cleared yet, and its perfectly logically to suspect him.
I personally would like an extention, right now I think there is 1 vote to YLC and 2 vote to Andres. So I'll Unvote: Andres right now, and hopfully we'll get more source on the extension to make up our minds.

I havent even checked, but I think both me and Andres voted YLC. Whoever has time can recheck the numbers.
Edit: I'm willing to do an extension. It's a good idea. If more evidence comes forward I may change my vote.
Quintus.JC

Andres did vote for YLC. Once again I've been sloppy, did have a lot of coursework to do recently...
I suggest you unvote YLC for now and wait for an extention, we can have more time to work out something then.
Unusual behavior from ATPG, too calm, no funny role playing or big involvement, hmmm

Get an extention and we could get some valuable time into this case.

It does not make you immune to investigation at all. Depending on the mechanics the host himself/herself set up, there could be several variations on how "guilt" is handled, or how detailed the investigations are.
Also, the bodyguard adds up perfectly (for the most part) - your simply ignoring the fact that I said that I could do one or the other. I choose to kill, instead of protecting an inactive townie - you would fault me for being proactive in this game?
And I also said I am the best bet for a lynch, unless we lynch Tiberius and something more comes up. However, I am sure you are mafia, since your willing to commit to this action already - if I were mafia, now would be the last time to try and throw suspicion on myself in the endgame. It is bad play, and goes against Game Theory.
If Yoyoma allows, I will show you all PM's from me to him.
Also, Yoyoma, please allow the extension as QJC requested.

Your timing for the "reveal" is just too perfect YLC.
Andres
Quintus
Tiberius
ATPG
YLC
--> lynch Andres: 4 players left.
--> night: YLC kills Quintus or ATPG
--> 3 players left. Tiberius : WoG -> 1 mafia vs. 1 townie = mafia victory.
We can't afford to take any risks at the moment. Tiberius hasn't posted since the 10th of January so he will almost definitely be WoG'ed.
Also, we need at least 3 votes on Tiberius if we want your plan to work. As long as we don't have more than 2 votes on Tib, you can easily screw us over.
I've seen mafia messing with last minute vote switches more then once in Capo II and I'm not willing to take risks. My vote stays where it has been put. If I'm wrong, I'll wholeheartedly apologise after the game is over
You do realize Tiberius will not be wogged? And that at this point it does not matter for whom you vote for? You will be owing me that apology at the end of the game Andres. As you laughing my face for being mafia. Or ATPG does because we all buyed into his "neutral" alignment.

I myself would bury myself in a cave and not come out for for 2 days if APTG was the mafia, he would of played us badly if it was him.
Actually, would it be possible to have no lynch today? We all abstain?
without a dead man interfering too much, i personally think ATPG and YLC are the most suspicous out of you 5...

The extension is granted.
How much time do you want?
However, the rules are clear about quoting PMs from the host.
And WOG is replaced by WOA-FM, as previously stated. Although we have yet to see what that is, don't we? :saint:
I have emailed Tiberius, and requested he bless us with his presence. Will he... won't he... Only he knows.
Until a fit time as to when everyone is convinced of another's guilt? Or someone dead intercedes?

I suppose we could have an alternate juror step in.
But it would have to be someone with no out of thread knowledge of the game.
And that would require honesty.
Yoyoma1910
01-21-2009, 06:02
Honestly, you know...
I find his current presence kind of aesthetically pleasing.
It's sort of like having our own in thread throw rug.
And look, you can even adjust his hands to hold your favorite beverage, or to form a nice bowl shape to some tasty Chex mix.
:happy2:NumNum!:happy2:
And wait till Halloween comes around!!! Oh the endless possibilities.:scorpio:

The first vote was yes, and I suppose that's the luck of the draw.

Why you should lynch YLC:
1) He killed me. :rtwno:
2) I was going to be very beneficial to the town and now I can't say anything more than I just did.
3) His "reveal" as vigilante was very convienent for Mafia and the description of protecting CountArach does not fit
4) Now he wants a no lynch? At this critical stage? When he is the only one who is known to kill? :shocked2:
Come on y'all... Don't let this sheriff swindle ya, that was my job.
