Since I have some unofficial submods added, I suppose it can't be fixed, but I wanted to share a little story...

Once an army of mine (Pahlava), was on it's way to claim Prophtasia the last eastern province in the hands of the Seleucids. One turn from the city, it was blocked by a red halo, but no enemy army was to be seen. My general, eager to prove his worth, tried to attack: the sword symbol appeared, but no battle came....

A spy was quickly brought to action: a small army, with old school peasant sprites, three units, two of liby-phenicain spearmen, and one depleted unit of Spartan hoplites. Odd.

My army had to go all the way around the lake south-east of Prophtasia, laid siege. Next turn the ghost army tried to break the siege: CTD when I tried to battle manually.
Reload, autoresolve, victory! The ghosts began a slow migration to Charax, the closest Seleucid settlement. I tried to bribe them, they won't accept. I tried to kill the general but assassins found "no assassination target available".

They made their way to Charax, defeated a few Sabean stacks, gained reenforcement of proper seleucid troops from Charax and their captain (the Spartans) turned into a familly member who now has a full stack still including some lybo-phenician CTD makers, and five or six command stars who would crush anything I could throw at him on autoresolve. The buggers are still invisible on the strategic map (only the red halo and a small "ungreened" circle for agents).

The ghosts are wandering around Charax, chasing rebels and casual Sabeans. Susa, Seleucia and Babylon are under their menace and if they decide to become aggressive, I'm doomed.

I guess there is something wrong in my campaign. Seleucids are alllied with Bartix, hard times are coming for Parthia...

I've never seen anything like that. I suggest just using auto_win if they come at you again.

IMHO That's like the lord of the rings ghost army, they have a blood bond with the Seleukids. HAHAHA

The Seleukids are the giant falling apart Empire in the game.

Please take some screenshots, I want to see what ever you see in your game.

That usually happens when a disaster strikes that completely wipes out an army yet the game fails to handle it properly, though I thought the team had disabled "total kill" disasters. Come to think of it, I haven't had a single disaster beyond the occasional plague for some time.
In any case, if you can get a name for the invisible character you can either move_character him onto a far away island or just add_money until you can bribe him and then restore yourself to your starting money. Once you bribe them they tend to die the next turn (or upon a reload then end turn...been a while since I had to deal with it) just do NOT put them in a city. If they don't die, wander them around until they do (I used one as a watch tower builder).

Bad news about the Ghosts: they brought an end to the antique world.

After twenty years wandering between Charax and Gerrha, the Ghost lord died, his army parted and invisiblilty was lost. In the meantime I had broken Seleucid and Ptolemaioi's backs in the middle east, all that was left to do was taking Ierosalyma, then I was to switch fronts and take Charax.
In the meantime I had also wrestled the treacherous Baktrians to death, pacifying India, a good horse-archer-heavy army was left to watch at the northern border and eastern holdings. The remnant of the eastern front began it's long way to take Ani-Kaman, they should have taken the last Seleucid settlement.
It was 198 BC...

I clicked on the "end turn" button, won two very hard battles against armies trying to lift Ierosalima's siege, with glory and losses, and here comes the Seleucid turn...
Two halfstacks of Seleucid troops merge in the delta of Tigris and Euphrates, become invisible and.... CTD, end of the world, hissings.:inquisitive:

Tried any actions possible after reloading, trying to inflict losses on the seleucid halfstacks, then autoresolving my battles with the Ptolemaioi (crushing defeats:beam:!), everything ended in the same CTD. I should try to load a save of a few turns earlier. I will try.

But for the moment, I catched up on one of my girlfriend's Romani savegames (yes, my sweetness plays EB, M/M, when I'm at work, and likes it much despite her very bad level in english) and I have fun with it. First time I play the Romans. Funny those creeping dwarves are.

If the problem arises because of the two small stacks merging, you can try to use move_character command to relocate them elsewhere, far from each other (for instance one to Crete, the other to Cyprus)... :2cents:
It would be very sad to let your nice campaign die because of this weird thing

Well I came back to 4 turns earlier and played on, the problem seems solved by maneuvering my only raiding party in range to kill those men before they die by themselves and become ghosts. Since then I had a crash after the end of a sally in Kophen vs the former Bactrian faction leader, now Eleutheroi warchief... maybe I should let him take the town.

Somaliland is a good bet, as is Socotra.
