So, played eb a lot since 1.0 version, did a campaign with most of the faction and for some i did twice, i found eb a vast improvement over vanilla, wich bored me after some hours of playing. I'm looking some others mods, better if in a different timeframe. I tried so far rise of persia, roma surrectum, res gestae.
All of them are well done and i really appreciate the work behind them, but i don't know, feels too much like vanilla, in many of this mods battle are too short and arcade or the choice of units it's really limited and there is not the historical feeling eb. The only mod so far that i could barely compare to eb was Invasion barbarorum flagellum dei ,very well done :2thumbsup:. Is there some other mod that can appeals to an eb addicted like me?

The best one I have found is Arthurian Total War, you can find it over at TWC and the chaps there are always happy to lend a hand.
Another MOD which is a pet favourite of mine if Invasio Barbarorum, there is something nice and warming about the MOD. Its not the most polished of gems, but a gem it is, particulalrly nice are the cul;tural buildings.

NO, THIS IS IT! I've tried others and no other mod compares to this. Reminds me of the song from 1991 from Sinead O'Connor. "Nothing Compares to you".

Has anyone tried Res Gestae? I remember we kept trying to get Prometheus to do more work for Ran no Jidai while I was on the team. Apparently someone actually took it over and finished it. The forum is over at the org. The only reason I ask is that it looked friggin beautiful.

Well, I used to help out the Roma Surrectum team (yes, the name is wrong, but it's been so long no one feels the need to fix it), so I'd suggest that mod. It's fun, though not terribly accurate. Hopefully RS2 will serve to fix that.
But honestly, Rise of Persia is my favorite after EB. They aren't many units and a number of factions aren't really done, but I'll be damned if it's still not one of the more addicting mods I've played. Historical accuracy is the major goal there. Plus, next version, they'll have the Bactrians done...so fans of pre-Greek Bactria will have some fun. But honestly, any mod that lets you play Babylon is alright in my book. :)
You should try FATW. It's nothing like EB, being a fantasy mod, but still a lot of fun.
I'll use this thread to ask a question I have had for a while now. Is there a mod that covers the imperial timeframe of roman history? I'd love to play from the augstian period and battleing parthia etc. :boxedin:

I thought Invasio Barbarorvm did cover the late imperial period. Or are you looking for 100-300 CE?

Maybe you could try Rome Total Realism - The Iberian conflict. It's a mini-campaign centered around Iberia and Hamilcar Barcas campaign to conquer it.
Here the relaesa movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12S4YoC5AOI
It has been out since a while and it has gotten really great reviews. ( I myself haven't played with it yet:sweatdrop:)
There next project there working on is called "Fate of empires" and will be about the punic wars and most of it's participators.
I know its not really another timeframe but it might be interresting.
For more info check there forums over at TWC.

I think that FRRE (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=46) covers that.
Broken Crescent isn't truly historical, but it's very much based in history, and it's a fun game. It's the mod I play the most, at least. The units all existed at one point in history, but they might have used slightly later-era or earlier-era units to fill out rosters to balance the factions.

TIC - The Iberian conflict is a really fun and immersive mini-mod. It is really fun and I hope FOE - Fate of Empires will be even better, but until RTR 7 is released, they will only distract me from EB as they are Mini-mods. That said, FOE will be substantially larger then TIC and the Roman Cultural building system looks really interesting.

Cheers. Unfortunatley those 2 minimods only cover the civil war, not the impirial peroid.

I tried arthurian total war today and the first impression is extremely positive, thank you for the suggestion
I tried tic too but don't like that, maybe because of the only few factions or the Demo feeling...
Anyway for med2 i suggest both broken crescent and stainless steel, for me the best mods for med2. Broken Crescent needs some tuning but it's really good and i don't think that it's less interesting because it's not in Europe(like some of my stupid friends think:no:) for me a middle east medieval mod it's the best idea, much more interesting and the armies of East are more varied too at the time.
Stainless steel with the submod of point blank that combine all the good submods and the last rc3 patch(most hard ai that i ever seen in a tw game) it's really impressive. Requires a good pc, the load time between turns are huge, only thing that stop me for playing it....
If you like Lord of the rings, you might wan't to look at Wlesmana's LoTR mod...
It's amazing all they had been able to achieve within the RTW enine... (they even have flying beasts)
THere's a trick though... it only works on alex.exe (sine they have 324 unit models, that only alex can handle)
XGM, just follow my sig...

Wich have the best campaign? LOTR TW or FATW? A Lords of the rings mod if well done can be interesting to me
