Hi, has anyone tried EB on linux and did it work?

If I recall correctly, it does work.
If RTW works on Linux, then EB should.

IIRC LorDBula once tried to run RTW using Linux+Wine but his machine didn't have enough memory, apparently...

Sorry for the bump, but how would I go about installing Rome Total War on Linux?

There are two ways:
(*) Use a VM. By far the easiest thing to do, but it is a bit of a hack: you actually run 2 OSes simultaneously.
(*) Use a binary-compatibility layer/emulator such as WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator). RTW (as well as M2TW) are reported to work on Wine (check its app data base).

Cheers. Although I didn't understand a word of that, a mate of mine wanted to know. Presumably, EB works with both?

If your friend has a working RTW 1.5 using either approach and he has the hardware muscle to spare, then yes. It's the EB rule of thumb: if it has RTW 1.5 in a clean state, then EB will work.
