which faction has the largest area of recruitment after the Romani?(they seem to make troops of their own in most of the conquered territories)

Using local troops is half the fun. You will be sending your citizens far away, and reinforcements will be a problem. That said, the Hellenic factions have a large AOR. you can find classical hoplites almost anywhere.

The various Celtic and Iranian units are both also found over rather impressive stretches of the map.

Celtic units can be found in incredibly large areas. Southern Iberia to the Eastern European forests... That's a pretty large stretch.

And the Romans only get the large recruitment AFTER becoming world-beaters and hitting the Marians. until then its regionals, regionals, regionals or ship an army from Italy. That said, take any of the big three (Hellenic, Celtic, Iranian) as mentioned already, and they will have a fairly large factional recruitment zone. But of course, there are the steppe factions, which can technically recruit a functional army EVERYWHERE. It will have no variety, but it can be done (A light spear, foot archer, and noble HA at least). The Pahlava are excluded as they are more like a partially settled group already.
So really the ? should be "Biggest AOR after the steppe factions?" :sweatdrop:

I think it'd be better to select a certain unit. The biggest AOR probably belong to greek skirmishers or those panda 'all-over' guys.

Go for Arche Seleukeia. They are a large empire and have lots and lots of interesting troops. Many of them have a large AoR as well, plus they are much more fun (IMO) than Romani. Elephants, Chariots, Cataphracts... You name it:yes:

No I really meant everywhere with the steppe units. All 199 provinces are open to the Sauro and Saka for their basic unit recruitment. Now if we're talking VARIETY, then the AS wins on the factional barracks basis, though any of the Celts come close since all the usually regional units for other factions are in the Celtic factional barracks.
