Alexandria battle freeze

I saw this one in the 1.1 sticky, and it looks like it's still around.

I besieged Alexandria and a relief force came and attacked.
After arranging my troops in the battle map and clicking Start Battle,
the entire game freezes and I can't even move the cursor.

EDIT: I also tried the workaround mentioned in the 1.1 sticky and battle still froze.

I'm afraid there's no other option.

I'm having the same freeze problem. So the 1.1 fix doesnt work?

If not, How do I do the auto-win?

Sorry I meant into the console....and what do I put into where attacker and defender are? the faction? the general? Sorry for the question, but I have never done this before.

auto_win attacker
You defend? Use literally:
auto_win defender
