Hey All,
Anyone here watch Pro Wrestling :clown:?
Not very often. Pro wrestling has a bit of a stigma attached to it, but every now and then I find it entertaining enough. Which is the entire point, the point isn't if its real or not, it's supposed to be entertaining.
I used to watch a lot of it when I was younger (13-16ish), when i was in that phase where I was really interested violence in any form I could get it. Pro-wrestling fit that bill quite nicely I have to admit. It wasn't until later that I realized how over the top and ridiculous it can get, but even having said that I still watch it every now and again. Nostalgia can drive a man to many things. :laugh4:
I was also shocked to learn that, more often then not, the face wrestlers were real :daisy: behind the scenes back in the day, and the guys playing the heels were probably some of the cooler people you'd meet. :smash:

I think you might have meant to put that 'pro' in sarcastic quotes up there, or at least throw in a 'fake' somewhere. You know there are people who actually fight one another for money? It's usually even cheaper than the fake stuff. Highly recommended over the actors with their razors and aluminium ladders.
As for real wrestling, I enjoy watching wrestling matches when I can find 'em on tv, as well as the occassional Sumo wrestling matches on ESPN 2 late at night.

Do you mean this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asL8eVM2wPw) or this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRCc2ZDoCkQ)?

Pro wrestling is not fake...it´s 'coreographed'...which isn´t the same thing....
there´s no way to "fake" a 3 meter fall off a ladder into a stack of tables......you either take the fall or you don´t...it´s not like they´re using computer graphics.
as for the "real" stuff.......the fights are usually extremely short and I find it boring as hell.
it´s the same thing as watching Rocky or watching a real boxing match....
Rocky -> Fun
Real Boxing -> snoresville.
I used to be a huge fan of the WWE when I was younger, but after the true wrestlers started walking out I got into MMA, mainly UFC. I still watch the Royal Rumble and of course, Wrestlemania. I talked my brother into betting $10,000 dollars on Randy Orton in the Royal Rumble. I hope those "choreographs" don't try anything smart.~

If you where betting on next sunday´s royal rumble I´d say your brother would have a good chance with such a bet.

$10,000 dollars? Why not just bet $8 dollars and be on the safe side :laugh4:?

Because it's too predictable nowadays. Plus, we get $20,000 if we win. Deal of a lifetime.

Pro Wrestling isn't real???
Anybody remember the kids' TV show Los Luchadores? Anybody also think the girl Luchadore was hot?

The difference between 'fake' and 'choreographed' is splitting hairs. Nobody watches a choreographed Hollywood fight and thinks 'Man, that dude got his *** handed to him.' He's an actor, he performed a stunt, and even if he performed it exceptionally well it was still as fake as a three dollar bill. Fake can still be fun and entertaining, but it's still fake. Do you want your girl to have a 'choreographed' orgasm or... well, you get my point.
You're spot on about most boxing matches these days though, boring beyond belief.

Does Sumou Wrestling count? Then yes.

of course you don´t say someone is getting their ass kicked in pro wrestling...but I think "fake" is too strong a word for an activity where the people involved have an higher injury rate than any other "real" sport.
the comparison with stuntmen is a valid one.....007 didn´t really get into a car crash in 'Casino Royale'...but some stunt dude really did......was it a 100% real car crash?..of course not...but he was inside the car when it was doing flips down the road.
and frankly....considering some of the football games I see here in Portugal, with referees like we have I wonder if it can be considered a "real" sport either :coffeenews::wiseguy:

so...did your brother go ahead with that bet? :book:

a heel that is starting to get face pops...but yeah a heel I suppose.
now...on the next installment....WWE does it´s classic mistake and tries to turn a popular "anti-hero" heel into a babyface and screws the pooch! :wall:

Those were the days...
Hulk still rules.....in is own head....
the guy was hugely overrated.......maybe the third most overrated wrestler of all time....right behind Warrior and Goldberg.
Bret Hart, hands down. The man is a living legend, a remarkable wrestler that isn't going to be forgotten anytime soon, his family included. Saw him at Maryland a couple of years ago, good man.

not my absolute number 1 favorite...but top 5 for sure.
a great professional....it´s shame what happened to him in WCW.
By pro wrestling you don't mean them guys in pink leotards that grapple with each other do you? If so no i refuse to watch that indent gay faked show! :clown:

They have one thing in common, they are all complete and utter :daisy: outside of the ring.

the three of them were complete and utter :daisy: inside the ring too....they were just pushed in a way that made them superstars... :wiseguy:
as for outside the ring...well....Warrior is just out of his mind insane...the guy is in another league.
so are they gonna give us Undertaker vs. HBK at wrestlemania like it was rumored or what?
this HBK vs. JBL is boring stuff.....just have Shawn go over at No way out and change the program.
