I'm playing as the Arche Seleukeia and I'm getting a big chunk of in-law sons (lots of girls in this generation) -- I can't seem to character_reset them for some reason. I've double-checked the spelling.

I can character_reset biologically born male family members though.
I remember in a previous campaign as KH, I was definitely able to reset son in-laws.

Some help? Or is this a consistent problem?

There internal name is not always the same as the one you see. If they have three names it is often "First MiddleLast" or "First Middlelast". Sometimes the spelling of some of the names is just slightly different from the one you see. What names are you having trouble with?

Character_reset? What does that do?

Sets that particular characters movement points to what they were at the start of the turn (resets movement points).

character_reset resets a character's (family member/general) movement points -- I use this when a child is borne to move him to my education capital. It's the only shortcut I take in my games. I figure roleplay-wise, a child wouldn't be born with the general on campaign anyway, but rather in one's homeland.

Anyhow, these are four names that aren't working.

These first three are all son-in-laws (if it matters) - I guess it could be just a typo in the name generation.

Zelys Tripoleos Phoinikikes
Hyrkanos Miletou Ionikes
Demodamas Stratonikeis Karikes

This last one is a natural son of one of my original FM; Euandros Pergamou Mysiakes.

I tried character_reset "firstname secondname thirdname", "firstname secondname", "secondname thirdname", etc. I tried every combination to no avail. I don't know how to search in the game files for the typo.

Thanks for any help. :)

Those should be:
"Zyls Tripoleosphoinikikes"
"Hyrkanos Miletouionikes"
"Demodamas Stratonikeiaskarikes"
"Euandros Pergamoumysiakes"
