while dloading a full version would be illegal, he might be able to find a demo or something.

I always thought after ten years they give away games for free, I mean, as like a respect for the game.

Duke Nukem 3D was like 1990 or something like that you still have to buy it, I think that's kind of funny for some reason.

Interesting.

You can get the internet, but can't seem to find one of the thousands of online businesses that will be happy to post you the game, irrespective of where you live.

Strange.

Or maybe just another of the cheapscate pirate fanbois, who aren't prepared to support the people that program the games they play, even when those games are now going at a discount price.

He can't buy games online if he is a 12 year old with no credit card. ;)

Pirate versions sold in stores =/= pirate versions being legal.

A country could, indeed, have copyright laws that void all intellectual property. I'm pretty sure the game would be forbidden to be played/installed/imported in any such countries (in the EULA, but I doubt it'd mean much in such a place). However, the vast majority (all?) has the appropriate laws, but fails to enforce them client-side.

I do't know about for free, but I do know that it is only £2.50 on Steam. I think that's...what? 4/5 dollars? That's your best bet
