have been considering doing an AAR for a while now, and i'm really just looking to see what the people of the forum would most like to see

any ideas other than the four im currently pondering would be greatly appreciated

so far im thinking either:

a romani AAR: i have played and enjoyed many romani campaigns on various versions of EB but havent started one on 1.2 yet

a ptolemaioi AAR: never played the ptolies and i dont see many ptolie AARs out there

a casse AAR: had a moderately succesful casse campaign on version 1.1 and as with the ptolies dont see many casse AARs about

a Kart-hadast AAR: same reason as the ptolies really

so i ask you, what would you rather see?

i'm leaning towards casse myself, however casse campaigns tend to take a long time to get going as you start off neutral to your surrounding independent tribes and as soon as oyu go to war with one, you go to war with them all.

this leads to really aggressive AI from the rest of the tribes on the isles of tin, which means you are now in financial hardships.

a period of maybe 5-6 years might be required purely building up the infrastructure in an attempt to be able to support any armies you are recruiting for the subjugation of the rest of britain

Voted for Casse.

You can always play ahead to the future and only then write about what happened. Let's say you can put all of the infrastructure building in one chapter even if it took you 20 years to get there.

yeah that's what i was considering doing, i just mean that it's rather boring and tedious for me to play up until the point were I am ready for aggressive expansionist behaviour

i've actually managed to persuade myself that a casse campagin would be a pain in the neck, and now thinking more along the lines of the ptolies, as i like the phalanx combat.

however whatever the majority decision is on here i will go for

unless it's decided that i should go makedonia, as i'm a good bit through my makedonian campaign and i don't want to start again to be perfectly honest

I voted Casse but I think that you should play a faction you like. If you don't like what you are doing then it's likely you will abandon the AAR.

you have a point there, it's not that i don't enjoy playing the casse, i do, it's just that it takes a while to get really started

I'd say Casse and start about five to ten years into the campaign. I enjoy "barbarian" AARs--they suit my writing style. Good luck, and I'll be following as time permits.:2thumbsup:

Indeed there has, and a rather good one it was.

It depends. I happen to be quite demanding when it comes to AARs, meaning I like to see that the writer has at least some decent of the history of the faction he has chosen. So it depends on how well you know a faction.
